    Circumstances of Disappearance

Paige Marie Renkoski, 30 years old, was last seen speaking with an unidentified Black male on the shoulder of Interstate 96 near the Fowlerville exit in Michigan on May 24, 1990 at approximately 3:00 - 4:30 PM. Her car was later found abandoned; the keys were in the ignition and the engine was running. The door to the vehicle was unlocked and Renkoski's purse and shoes were located inside. She has never been seen nor heard from again.

On that day back in 1990, Renkoski had dropped her mother off at Metro Airport at 11:30 a.m. and stopped to visit a friend in Canton Township until about 2:30 p.m. She stopped at a party store, bought a beer and headed back to Lansing. Some witnesses have told police they saw her vehicle weaving in and out of traffic, a maroon or burgundy van following close behind.

She left a large sum of money in her bank account and apparently had no travel plans. Renkoski had a close relationship with her mother and was engaged to be married.

In 2002, police said they have identified one suspect and are seeking a second in the disappearance of Paige Renkoski. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department relseased composite drawings of both suspects and told of new leads. Among them: at least two suspects were seen by passing motorists. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

Investigators seek public's help in cold case (with suspect sketches)

A cold-case team has developed three new suspect sketches in connection to their search for an Okemos woman last seen in 1990 on an expressway near Fowlerville.

Cold case team member Mike Frayer said the sketch based on a tip from a now retired Michigan State Police intelligence officer is considered “extremely credible” and a second sketch based on a tip from a woman resembles a former truck driver serving time in New York for four murders.

This link was posted previously, however I noticed that the Livingston Daily articles are not kept on-line for too long.so I wanted to capture some key points here on WS.

    http://www.livingstondaily.com/article/20111024/NEWS01/111024009/Investigators-seek-public-s-help-cold-case-suspect-sketches-?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Frontpage

In it there are sketches of three possible suspects. (I tried to post the image, but it didn't work.)

There is also a discussion of leads from three people:

    1) a retired Michigan LE officer drove by PK's car on the shoulder of I-96 and saw a black man peering into her car's rear window. There was a cargo-type van pulled up behind her car. PK was not seen.

    2) a woman was picked up by a trucker in 1989 after her vehicle broke down on I-96. He told her she just made the "biggest mistake of her life". Luckily she said she had a gun and he let her get out. Apparently he resembles an ex-trucker who is serving time in NY for four murders. They are going to compare the convicted killer's palm print with a palm print found on PK's car.

    3) a woman traveling on I-94 near Kalamazoo in 1990 said a man in an old car fashed a police badge at her in an attempt to get her to pull over. He was described as black and later referred to as Hispanic. So perhaps he looked black, hispanic?

I wonder if this is the area on the map that was provided by the tipster.
