Missing Kids Returned by New Tax Law?

It's strange to think about, but many parents who violate court orders and abduct their children continue to pay federal taxes while hiding out -- living on the run...or establishing a new life elsewhere. Some even claim their children as dependents on their returns. Yet the IRS can't share that information with local law enforcement. Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar's bill would change that.

"We might not think of these cases in the same light as stranger abductions, but they are just as scary for the family members left behind left looking for missing child," said Klobuchar.

[snip]

There are 200,000 plus family abductions reported every year in the U.S. This measure has the potential to bring a lot of children home to their rightful parent or guardian.

The law always holds so many gray areas, but unfortunately the constitution protects these individuals. Something has to happen but what it is I don't know. Parents have rights and unless the child is being harmed it is so hard to find an answer. What are we going to do to protect these children ? It seems the answer has to come within the parents deepened thoughts. The courts always try to come up with, what is best for the child, we may never know. These children remain in limbo for way to many years. With the technology we have today there is no reason why these children continue to remain in the hands of the wrong parent. Unfortunately because one parent doesn't have the money to fight for the child, the child ends up with the wrong parent, and suffers silently.
