Sad story. Waconia is located 20 miles WSW of Minneapolis. Great town. Sounds like Andy went out to photograph wildlife on his paddle board on an unseasonably warm day in MN. 45 and sunny this late in the year brings out people in sweatshirts rather than winter clothes. He was wearing black pants, a new Adidas top and a black stocking cap. Unfortunately the lake water temps were in the low 40s and his flotation device was apparently attached to his board and not being worn. His board was found anchored but upright about 100 feet offshore with no sign of Andy. So far they've sent divers down, done sonar, ROVS, drone and helicopter flights, shore searching. No sign of him. Maximum lake depth only 44 feet.

It's been a week now and the ice is just forming in the lake. They have also started land searches.

"The Carver County Sheriff's Office confirmed the news on Wednesday, saying the body of 35-year-old Andy Stifter was located around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after a local man spotted the body with an underwater camera while ice fishing on Lake Waconia.
    ...
Several searches were conducted in the days that followed Stifter's disappearance -- dive operations were later suspended by the Carver County Sheriff's Office, due to ice and safety concerns. Deputies were able to find items belonging to Stifter in the water.

Stifter leaves behind a wife and two children, with a third child on the way next year."

    How sad ... :(.
