    Case File 123UFMN

The victim was discovered on June 12, 1993 in rural Washington County, Minnesota
    Vital Statistics

    Estimated age: 20-30 years old
    Approximate Height and Weight: .
Distinguishing Characteristics: Short dark brown or black hair, spiked on top with a small pigtail in back.; brown eyes. Small amount of red nail polish on nails of the 4-5th toe nails.
Marks, Scars: Each earlobe had three holes pierced for earrings.
    Dentals: Available
DNA: Available (sample submitted per NAMUS)
    Case History
The victim was located in rural Washington County on the shores of Bone Lake on June 12, 1993.
Shortly after the head was found in Bone Lake in New Scandia Township, a left foot was found about 20 miles away on a Mississippi River bank near Pig's Eye Lake in St. Paul. The Washington County medical examiner believed that the foot and head belonged to the same woman, partly because they were both cut cleanly.

Authorities have sent the woman's description, including descriptions of her dental work, to the National Crime Information Center and every police department in the five-state area.

There appears to be a sort of blemish on her right cheek - but neither NAMUS or Doe Network mentions a mole of freckle there - should we read it as just a flaw in the image?

    Here's a few possibles:

Sue Walker transient missing from Seattle in 1992
    http://charleyproject.org/cases/w/walker_sue.html

Carolyn Haris missing from Texas 1 month earlier (May 1993):
    http://charleyproject.org/cases/h/harris_carolyn.html

Katrina McVeigh missing from RI in 1992:
    http://charleyproject.org/cases/m/mcveigh_katrina.html
    - circumstances sound like they already did know who did it though, and where her body is.

I'm assuming they already checked out this lady missing from St. Paul in 1992:

Here are a few articles relating to this Jane Doe

I wish we could have this "computer enhanced" composite of her. I can't seem to find it on the web. Other additional characteristics gleaned from the articles include that she had "chin hairs", had around a size 9 shoe. And was undoubtably murdered, and her body parts disposed of in multiple locations (the bodies of water are NOT connected). There was also apparently someone who confessed to killing her and said she was from Wisconsin, but said he disposed of her whole body in a body of water, but the woman's neck and foot were cleanly severed so this does not sound that promising to me.

I find it interesting that her head and foot were found, but not the rest of her. I'm guessing that her killer didn't want her identified and thought the head, feet, possibly hands would never be found, even if her torso was. Or I suppose s/he just dismembered her to dispose of the body more easily and the rest of her is still in the water.

That's an interesting haircut, although perhaps it was more popular back in the early 90s (it's kind of a version of the "fem-mullet"). I associate the hairdo with a particular demographic, but I'm not sure if that's accurate or how much that would help identify her.

I wonder if her haircut was done post-mortem to change her look? It seems like such an odd style...short and spiked with a small pig-tail in the back...I don't think I have ever seen someone sport that style. The dismemberment shows that efforts were made to conceal her identity, so perhaps the odd hair cut could have been another measure. The haircut, if it was really hers, could also suggest perhaps the groups she ran with, whether it be a lesbian scene, or some other alternative group, as it is not a normal hairstyle, especially for the rather conservative (in dress) Twin Cities area.

Maybe she was unreported, perhaps living a transient/dangerous lifestyle (perhaps prostitution) or perhaps her partner murdered her and hence the precautions taken to hide her identity. Given MN's proximity to Canada, could she have perhaps come from there?

Does anyone have any possible matches for her?

Thanks for sharing images....I guess it was a popular style! I had never seen it before (and I grew up in Minneapolis in the 90's!). Since she had a very masculine hairstyle and "chin hairs" I wonder if she perhaps could have been a cross-dresser or perhaps just a more "butch" woman.

The chin hairs and hair cut made me wonder if this wasn't a person taking male hormones but I don't know any trans person who is female to male and paints their toe nails...

I wonder if they ever did an DNA match or are just basing this all as the same person? It's possible there are two victims ...

The missing earrings is telling. I'm guessing the killer probably took them as either trophies or to pawn. No one goes without all 3 or in this case, 6.

I would imagine other bodies of water were used for disposing of the corpse. The Bone Lake location is fairly rural and would have had to been sought out by the murderer, whereas the Mississippi is very accessible. I wonder if DNA testing would reveal what brand of nail polish was on the toes? It could help eliminate possible areas of the country.

This is interesting that they checked the Minnesota River. Did they have evidence to point them in that direction?

Zeta Gordon is completely off in the age range, but her face reminded me of this Doe.

I am blind or is there possible something there?

Looks pretty good although Theresa's face is kind of lop sides or maybe it was just her facial expression...
