It seems clear to me that he died during some sort of drug deal. I wonder how many people knew that he didn't go there to buy arrowheads.

I wondered if drugs were behind the arrowhead trip. I just wasn't sure. I am sure MHPD knows what they are doing. imo

The body of a Columbia man who had been missing since Feb. 8 was found Thursday by the Miller County Sheriff's Department in a wooded area near Brumley, according to a statement from the department.

It also stated that a preliminary investigation indicated Aaron Brantley, 41, died of a gunshot wound.

Or... There was a drug raid which led to finding the car, which led to someone rolling on everyone else and taking the police to the body. And Mr. Brantley was just robbed and murdered by some meth heads. That would also explain why so many agencies are involved. Lets wait and see what comes out. But honestly the arrowhead story seems to original to be a cover story to me. And other articles have mentioned that the individual selling the arrowheads has spoken to the police and stated that Mr Brantley never showed up lending creedence to that story.

Documents: Suspects in missing Columbia man's death disposed body, burned evidence

Three men accused in the death of a missing Columbia man were charged in circuit court.

Christopher English faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action, while Daniel Cole and William Lucas were charged with accessory to a first-degree murder and accessory to armed criminal action. The three men were also charged with abandonment of corpse.

A probable cause document stated that a witness approached an Osage Beach police officer and told him English had shot Aaron Brantley at a residence on Blue Ridge Road in Miller County. The residence belonged to William Lucas.

    [...]

The witness told officers he saw English walk outside Lucas' residence to the driveway and meet with Brantley. The witness then said English returned to the garage and told everyone to help load the body into Brantley's silver Hyundai Sonata. The witness said he, Lucas, English and Cole put Brantley's body in the car.

Cole told a state trooper English drove Brantley's car to an unknown location, while Lucas followed in a pickup truck. The witness told investigators they came back in Lucas' truck without Brantley's vehicle or body. The four men then went to a convenience store and bought three bottles of bleach.

Lucas said after the four men disposed the body, they burned their bloody clothes and tried to destroy the scene of the shooting with bleach.

The bond for English was set at $400,000, while the bonds for Cole and Lucas were set at $225,000. Cole and Lucas had scheduled arraignment hearings scheduled for Monday morning. A court date for English had not yet been set.

Records from Brantley's cellphone indicate he last talked with English, according to a Miller County Sheriff's Office probable cause statement. English said he was supposed to meet with Brantley, but he never showed up. Investigators eventually determined Wilson and Brantley were to meet at a bowling alley on Missouri 42 in Kaiser.

This person told authorities that, on Feb. 8, he was at a residence belonging to Lucas on Blue Ridge Road. He said he saw English walk outside to a garage a meet with someone in the driveway. The person said English went back into Lucas' home and said he had just shot the subject and demanded everyone in the home help load the body into the victim's vehicle. This was later determined to be Brantley, and it was his vehicle.

Lucas was interviewed by authorities March 7, and he admitted to his involvement in Brantley's killing, saying he had helped remove Brantley's body and transported it twice.

Investigators also learned Lucas had purchased bags of lime, a tarp and work lights from a store in Lake Ozark to help with the disposal of evidence. Lucas told authorities they had tried to burn their clothes and destroy the crime scene.

New Warrant for Suspect in Lake Area Murder
More trouble for one of the three suspects charged in connection to the killing of a Columbia man whose remains were found earlier this month in the lake area. William Lucas, of Kaiser, now has a no-bond probation warrant on an original felony possession charge out of Miller County. The warrant was issued after Lucas was charged with accessory to first-degree murder and armed criminal action along with conspiracy to abandon a corpse after the, alleged, murder of Aaron Brantley.
