Details of Disappearance
Beste was last seen in Afton, Missouri on January 7, 1992. A friend visited her at her home in the 4300 block of Seibert Avenue; this friend was the last person known to have seen her. An hour later, when Beste's six-year-old son arrived home from school, his mother was gone. She has never been heard from again.

Beste left her car behind; in the backseat were several Christmas presents she planned to return to the store. Her purse disappeared with her, however. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.

From his early 20s through his early 40s, a period that spanned 1976 to 1994, Lawrence Gene Timmons was linked to no less than five separate violent crimes in Missouri, despite spending seven of those years in prison or on parole.

He was charged in the kidnapping and assault of a young boy, the home invasion robbery of a female college student, and the gunpoint rape of a woman, and was questioned but never arrested in the homicides of his first wife and Smith.
Former Perinton town employee charged in cold case murder. Police suspect he may have killed others.

I am not 100% on the rules on WS, newish here, but I found a newsclipping from the time that by name mentions a live-in boyfriend. MOO that's where my immediate suspicion goes to, of course. Not a single update on the investigation from LE I could find, though, nor any info on an investigation even happening. Just my questions: Did this guy have an airtight alibi? Were there followup investigations, maybe searches? If so, were they just not worth writing about?

Every missing persons piece I read mentions "foul play suspected" so I find it wild this case somehow was just a blip in the radar of the media.

I have looked through court records, and have reasonable reasons to believe that the live-in boyfriend was arrested in 2018 for domestic assault. MOO ofc, since it would be doxing to prove this. But I have dug deep, Missouri CaseNet searches, find out the full name, google search, got a mugshot result that indicated a 2018 domestic violence result. Again, MOO since giving records would dox. Still very worried about my findings, though.

I’d be curious to see what you found. I grew up in the neighborhood this happened, and was friends with her son Brian. I’ve always wondered what happened in this case, and what happened to my childhood friend. I was there when all the St. Louis news stations were at his house interviewing his dad, who I believed was also named Brian. I was a few years older than Brian, and me and my friend Donny would go to his house on Seibert often. He had a Sega Genesis and we would play games with him and his mom Lisa would always make us grilled cheese sandwiches and was really nice. Always hoped they would find her and if anything ever happened, as my family moved away in October 1993.

Paul Brian Risch is not a careful driver:

Case.net

Click on Litigant Name Search. Busy guy in the court system.

These Missouri public records indicate that Mr. Risch is the child Brian's father, and the Brian lived with his grandmother after his mother disappeared.
