MO MO - Possible Serial Killer of Females, 1980s-1990s

Like I say there are of course likely more than one offender in these cases as they are numerous. Just want to make the point the I70 Killer travelled great distances and through a number of states during his short but prolific crime spree of the known crimes associated with him. The Angela Hammond murder is one that sticks in the mind from Unsolved Mysteries as she was pregnant and there was the car chase involving her boyfriend. Of course very nasty as they all are. I do not know who the offender was but in my opinion like the I70 Killer he seemed to have the luck of the Devil on his side:

The Mysterious Abduction of Angela Hammond

These videos sometimes disappear but here in the Unsolved Mysteries episode featuring the Angela Hammond case:

Again I am not saying I know he committed this crime. As I say I am certain my suspect in the I70 Killer was active in Missouri so that is why I have posted about him on this thread.

I will give these cases a bump again with two videos from You Tube which feature the Angela Hammond case:

Not sure what the whispering is about but I have heard or not heard this before.

Here appears to be a recent Podcast about the Angela Hammond case if people are interested. By posting about this case I am trying to give all of these unsolved Missouri cases a bump. There may be one than more offender but my suspect would be the I70 Killer who of course struck in Missouri amongst other states:

Our True Crime Podcast: #28 Gone From His Eyes: Angela Hammond Disappearance

The Angela Hammond case of course a very sad and moving one with her fiancé chasing to save her and his unborn child. Of course stating the obvious like most cases on this site I do not think there will be any fairy tale ending now.

For some of the other cases they could be tied to Larry DeWayne Hall and/or his accomplices he mentioned to an author who wrote a book on him. Larry confessed to a few of these, though we can’t trust a serial killer’s confessions.

I feel like you also can't trust Christopher Martin, the author who wrote about Larry Hall. He has been less than honest to LE about his conversations with Larry and he has made up several things about his relationship with him. We did an entire episode on our podcast about Larry Hall and Christopher Martin because of this deception and how it affected the Linda Weldy cold case. (Cold Case Chronicles, ep 3)

Anyone have any news on the Christina Whittaker case? I'm from the town over literally 20 minutes away. i was looking on google maps of where its said that she had been missing and there are cameras all over the area. No one saw anyhting? this was literally a block or 2 away from the police department too! Apparently she was seen in Peoria Il. in about 2014. A store clerk and a cop said that they both saw a girl that matched her description, but it was substantial enough for them to look into it more. It's sad to say but i think this could have something to do with human/drug/sex trafficking. prayers go out to the family that a lead catches again. the cases is 10 years old in November!

Here is a recent article about some unsolved murder cases in Missouri:

A Serial Killer Murdered 3 Women in 1990 in St. Louis. He’s Never Been Caught
This sounds like someone who, possibly, renovates old hotels. That may explain the wire, the mattresses, and the dog hair. If DNA wasn't possible on the mattress, then perhaps the type of knot could be helpful. It could be a knot used at specific type of job or a military type knot that they use to teach in boot camp. They may not have shared all that information with the public.

Hello. You can find the thread here. I forgot where new threads were posted.

MO - MO - Could These Abductions and Murders of Females Be Connected?

Missouri is a rural state, with few high-profile cases (aside from Shawn Hornbeck). But in the same areas, there seem to be abduction or murder cases that seem identical.

Is it possible that these abductions and murders could have been committed by the same culprit? NOTE: I am NOT saying they are all definitely connected, I am saying they MAY be connected.

1990 – Katherine Baker, 30, was last seen on the 14th or 15th April 1990 in North Kansas City. Her body was found on 19th April. She may have visited bars in the North Kansas City area prior to her disappearance.

1985 – Peggy Alt, 17, vanished from High Ridge, Missouri, after packing her belongings and leaving her home on March 2nd 1985. Missing.

1989 – Gina Brooks, 13, was last seen as she left home on her bicycle in Fredericktown, Missouri, on 5th August 1989 sometime after 10pm. She was seen near a local church, talking to the driver of a light gray, green or blue station wagon with Missouri licence plates. A scream was heard sometime after that and her bicycle was found later that evening. Missing.

1991 – Angela Hammons, 20, was last seen in Clinton, Missouri, on 4th April 1991. She was talking in a telephone booth to her fiancée. A ‘filthy bearded man’ apparently came out with a flashlight. Angela was heard screaming and the call ended. Her fiancée began to drive there and said he saw a green Ford F-150 pickup. Witnesses near the crime scene said they saw a man with coveralls and a dark baseball cap at the site. Missing.

1991 – Cheryl Kinney, 30, was last seen in Nevada, Missouri, at her job at the Quality Convenience Store on 27th February 1991. She clocked out at 10pm. Witnesses say they heard a woman screaming. Her case has previously been connected to Angela Hammond. Missing.

1992 – Tracy Pickett, 14, left her home in Joplin, Missouri, to stay over at a friend’s house on 11th August 1992. During a party at the house, a man named Al (who has been identified as Lowell Andrew Billy, who was convicted of an unrelated crime in 1993) was seen talking to her. Neighbours reported that they heard a girl scream. There is insufficient evidence to charge Billy with any crime. Missing.

2005 – Bianca Piper, 13, disappeared from Foley, Missouri, on 10th March 2005. Her mother dropped her off on McIntosh Hill Road after an argument. Her therapist had advised her to do this if Bianca had an argument. She never arrived home. No sign of her was found, ruling out the theory that she got lost. Missing.

I decided these cases, or at least some, could be connected. These were all young women, most of them in their teens, (the average age is 19) with some of these cases indicating an abduction. Some were heard screaming and some got into vehicles.

Some were seen leaving work, some going to or from friend’s houses or school. 12 of these 17 incidents took place between March and August. Quite a number of these seem to have suspicious circumstances.

There seem to be two main groups. Those leaving work to go to a parked car, or a young girl walking alone and being coerced or pulled into a vehicle. The Springfield Three and Amanda Caudill seem to have been abducted from their homes, but maybe the killer had spotted them earlier?

What is puzzling is that after 1997 there seems to be a large gap, with only four having occurred after that year. If it is the same person or persons, maybe they went to prison?

Now, these might NOT be related and I am not suggesting that they are. I am saying that some of these seem to share similarities and distance.

Could it be the I-70 killer? Could it be someone else? Whatever the answer, I think that this idea should certainly be considered. How come most of these women are still missing? Missouri is, as I said before, quite a rural state, with plenty of room to discard a body if you knew the place.

If it is the same killer, he may use a vehicle for work or have family in different parts of the state. I just want these cases to be solved and the families given peace.

Just think of how many unsolved homicides(involving females and same age group), there maybe in each county where these girls are missing from, that you don't know about.

I'm certain there are many. Fortunately, this website has plenty of viewers who try to help figure out what happened to those missing people. This website is excellent.

If anyone is interested check out the perps in Trudy Darby's murder, Mack's Creek,Mo. It's believed one or both with never charged participants may be responsible for more missing and murdered women during the 90s. TIA MOO

I had a family member who was murdered. Since then, I try to help by making suggestions about unsolved crimes. I don't know if my theories will ever be correct but I will certainly try to help.

It is possible that some of these are connected. I looked at many of these cases recently. It seems that many of them came up missing from near freeways. Some are also within a very short time frame of each other.
