I've been looking for her car in my area. I wonder if it's out of the area. I live in a college town so her car could easily blend in... heck, she could easily blend in! I think people within a few hours drive or so really need to start keeping an eye out.

Agreed. I highly doubt these people were "friends." That word is thrown around in the party world, but when it comes down to it these "friends" disappear. I know that as I had a brief time in my past where I screwed around with going out every night, etc. but when times got rough and then I made the choice to get back to my real life and be totally sober, every single one of them were gone. Alcohol and drugs lend a false sense of companionship... but in reality you are alone.

This is why very few people showed up to search for her in my opinion. :(

One of the J's has a fake profile that says they work at QT. Probably doesn't mean anything, but is a weird coincidence to me.

I didn't realize Peted Jr. had said early on the last ping came from Parkville. I do know Pete Sr. told me they had known about the Ping from Parkville early on but he didn't disclose the source. I questioned why they waited to search around English Landing Park in Parkville. That search was the last search and they first searched around the QT where she bought gas. I've looked and am not finding where the Police said they did sonar in the river in Parkville. I assume Darin Snapp must have verified this. My question is, how close can you come to finding the cell phone when tracking the last ping? Can the Police use some kind of tracking that is more efficient than someone not in Law Enforcement? There were many people saying they did not know if the Parkville ping was from a valid source. Yes, I agree, if LE searched the river and the wooded area around Parkville they must have information telling them she was there. May not have been a ping from her cell phone though. Maybe Snapp verified the last ping, if I knew this I've forgotten. I am forgetting what we know to be fact.

I agree with you. I'm having a difficult time following the case due to all the contradictions with LE , media, family etc... something just doesn't sit well with me.

Her ATM card was declined twice. As far as banking goes, that is the end of that. There would be no reason to go to your bank at 5 AM on a Sunday morning if your card was already declined. After your card is declined twice, you're done, as far as banking goes. Time to move on to plan B, whatever that might be.

I have to admit, I'm rethinking things a bit. I think PokeyMeansBusiness is correct in that Toni turned left onto W 26 because she planned to use the drive-up ATM out front of J.D.Byrider. In fact, I do think she used that ATM after she was pulled over and before going to the QuikTrip. I would bet money on it. As Toni drives away, she puts on her right blinker, indicating a right turn onto Burlington.

I no longer believe she may have been out there by mistake. And I no longer believe there was any paranoia about being followed.

So the question becomes, then, was she out there specifically to use the ATM, or was she out there on some other business and just happened to want to use the ATM? It seems there are plenty of closer ATMs that she could have used, so it seems likely that she was in NKC for some reason other than just to use the ATM.

She wasn't going gambling, since she's underage.
She wasn't going on a paid date, or she wouldn't need cash from the ATM.
If she were out there to party, or a fun date, there wouldn't seem to be any need for cash.
She just finished a shift at Chrome. Surely she had some money. From the sound of things she had to be convinced to take the shift. She probably negotiated a concession on the house fee.

There really only seems to be two options. She wanted to buy something expensive at 5AM or she was heading out on a road trip with the intent of disappearing.

Why couldn't she go home for cash? It sounds like she usually had cash at home....

Nobody seems to know why she was in NKC....

    ---

I'm reconsidering her removal of the tracking device as well. One thing that always bothered me about it was why remove it at the QuikTrip? If you don't want people knowing where you're going, then why not pull it as you leave Chrome? But she doesn't because she knows she's going to use the ATM anyway, so that will give away her location. No point pulling the tracking device before then.

The whole thing is starting to look a lot like she was planning to disappear.

The only scenario I can think of for going to her bank to use an ATM is if she was trying to withdrawal a large sum of money or had already done a successful withdrawal but the next one was declined.

I have a cap on withdrawal amounts and the number of withdrawals allowed on my account. I agree with you, but I can see this happening. If the atm declined the transaction, maybe it had a message to inquire about it with your bank and she perhaps thought ohh I have to go to my bank's ATM to take out this much money. Just a different thought.

This is amongst my few theories as well. Either running from her life as it was, or taking a nosedive straight into it. If it weren't for the alleged "meet up" and the contractions that follow, this would be higher on my theory list. (I think someone tried to cover their tracks, and they wouldn't need to had Toni simply run off.)

of course no underage kids ever have fake ids. I don't know what KC is like, but I have relatives in that age range and they talk about going to casinos/clubs and buying liquor etc. They must have some way of getting around such things, right?

But I agree with your last point that the purposefully disappearing is not crazy, even still. It's the one I am rooting for.

Fake ids are popular in the KC area. I have dated two girls in area who had fake id's prior to their 21st birthday. Her Mom works at a casino and her father gambles so she wouldn't be foreign to the casino, but I haven't seen anything in this case thus far that would lead me to believe that she went to that casino.

I'm also leaning towards her disappearing on purpose.

I'm not going to lie, I'm starting to warm up to the idea as well. Initially, I thought there was zero percent chance, but now, it is a consideration. It's not my leading theory, but its on the list.

I think just going in that direction and potentially going to a bank is just as much indication as anything else. How about the fact that a casino is a 24 hour establishment? There is a hotel there as well.

None of us knows where she truly went beyond the QT, so it's not like I'd be ruling the casino out at this point given what I just noted.

I have seen casino as potential lead from day 1 because of general direction, hours of business, people that hang out there, hotel.. etc etc.

I don't know if they checked casino surveillance, but I'd say it'd have been a big mistake not to imo.

Yes, one would hope they would have thought of that.

The reason I thought casino at all is because I could easily see her not wanting her parents to know her car was parked at a casino, hence the tracking device disabling. With fake ID, I guess the casino is a possibility, if she was into that. She could potentially have had a friend that was into it, that she was meeting up with. There would be plenty of video, though. Plus cell phone pings to guide them. The Janina V@squez case comes to mind.

It's odd, though, that she was attempting to withdraw money at 4:33 AM from an account her parents could monitor. How do you explain that one to the parents?

I don't think it has anything to do with her being into that necessarily. I just think it's a reasonable meeting place and potentially more. I don't think she went there to play slots, if she did go there.

Casino/Hotel has black jack, slots, roulette etc. But I highly doubt that she'd be going there for that. I could be wrong, maybe she is into casinos. But I think that there is a tendency for drugs to be **near** these places because of the fact that a certain amount of people that are into that scene are also commonly into drugs/prostitution. There are enough movies out there that depict such things, and it's not because it's complete fantasy. Talk to someone who works in a casino hotel and they likely have a few stories for you. I've known a few people that were bellmen at regular hotels, and they had all kinds of stories about the nightlife.

Casino could be 100% non-issue. But failing to cover that base would be incompetency imo when you have a missing girl like Toni under the circumstances we do know of.

All casinos have CCTV everywhere even on the outside. I would hope LE viewed all video. One of Atlantic City murder victims was seen on a casino camera. It helped LE it pinning down a time frame. Sadly she wasn't seen leaving with anyone and her murder as well as the 3 other victims remain unsolved.

One huge problem is there are two atm's just south of the QT. I don't think they pulled her over (in the typical way) but were suspicious of why she turned on a dead end street and sat idle. This jibes with Snapp saying they wanted to make sure her story was straight. This seems unlikely if they put the lights on on Burlington. He didn't turn his lights on until he got behind her on 26th.

Snapp describes movement by the officer that I don't see happening. There's also an edit around the time the mystery car backs up.
