Dale Phillips aged 27 is being charged with 2nd degree murder and felony child endangerment charges in the death of his nephew, Tyler Fecko.

Phillips and his girlfriend Linda Petrait also 27 challenged the 11 year old in a drinking game. Later the boy was found deceased and autopsy concluded he died of alcohol poisining.

This happened in 2009. I noticed the mom had spoken out somewhere. What's wrong with people? Seriously?

Petrait and her 29-year-old boyfriend, Dale Phillips, were charged in the July 2009 death of Phillips' nephew, Tyler Fecko. Authorities said the two Joplin residents were playing a drinking game with the boy while he was staying at Phillips' apartment.

This is just too frickin' sad!!! Who are these moronic adults thinking it is okay to "feed" alcohol to youngsters ?

Linda Petrait, the girlfriend of the victim's uncle, Dale G. Phillips, 29, was accused of playing a drinking game with the 11-year-old boy that led to his death. Phillips also faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree child endangerment. His court case remains pending.

Poor kid was 11. At that age you do your best to keep up with anything that is going on and you still need the guidance of responsible adults. So sad.

Ugh. It's one thing to allow a preteen or teen to taste a bit of wine at dinner. It's completely another to play a drinking game. WHAT were they thinking?!

I'm about 15 miles from Joplin and remember reading about this in the Globe the morning after. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? still is the definitive question.
