A search in Northern California has already resumed this morning for a mountain lion that attacked and tried to drag away a 6 year old boy. It happened in an open space reserve near the Silicon Valley City of Cupertino.

It was a highly unusual attack as the boy was with a large group of adults. He was only saved because his father and another man drove the lion off. Officials are saying the animal is very dangerous and likely to attack again. They are using K9s to track it down and, if DNA from the child's wounds matches the lion they capture, it will be killed.

The young boy is stable in Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He was scratched, and bitten on the head.
