Found Deceased MS - Brittany Crenshaw, 19, McLaurin, 16 Aug 2012 *Arrest*

The Forrest County Sheriff's Office is seeking help from the public in locating a missing 19-year-old McLaurin woman.

Brittany Crenshaw was last seen at about 5 a.m. Thursday in the McLaurin area (near Hattiesburg, MS), said Forrest County Investigator Nick Calico.

Crenshaw stands about 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 117 pounds with brown hair. She has a large cross tattoo on her back, a smaller cross tattoo on her left shoulder blade, a dolphin tattoo on her right hip and a palm print tattoo above one of her ankles.

Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at (601) 544-7900.

In the past, Brittany resided in Bastrop, Louisiana, and has family in the Monroe, West Monroe, Louisiana, areas.

Hopefully there will be some more information about this case. She has a baby girl and there are lots of photos of her on Lori's FB page. Wonder if the girl is with her.
Sure hope Lori is found soon and safe.

Oh my it looks like she has a small child too. I wonder where the baby is. Also a post about someone stealing from her and her intent to get LE involved and/or take this person to court. Rants about daddy's side of the family not being involved in the baby's life. So many question marks and possibilities.

Has she always had that she lives in Bastrop, LA? I see that she's from Bastrop, but it also states on her FB page that she's living there.
The article didn't specify whether the child was left behind, but I assume that she was. I can't see her doing that if she was running off to elope or something of the sort. Or maybe she is planning to elope and then come back for the child?

I was born and raised in the area, but do not live there now. McLaurin is really a community just south of Hattiesburg. It is also just south of Camp Shelby National Guard Armory that holds summer camps for nationwide National Guardsmen. During the summer months, there is an influx of guardsmen around Hattiesburg. Just north of Camp Shelby, there is a club called the Outer Limits that used to have strippers. I'm not sure if it is closed now, or if it operates as a regular bar, etc. I have been relocated 13 years now, but frequently visit family who lives in the area.

There is also Paul B. Johnson state park that is the home to lake Paul B. Johnson. It is a pretty active recreational area, but also has some camping areas that used to give me the willies. McLaurin is located on US Hwy 49, which is a pretty traveled highway from the casinos of the MS Gulf Coast. Interstate 59 also runs through Hattiesburg just north of McLaurin and is about an hour or so north of New Orleans.

McLaurin, itself, is a very rural area. There is a local Hburg forum but there were not any posts about Brittany.

I'm hoping she just needs some time to herself.

So obviously, on Aug. 9th, Brittany was having some issues with her stepmother and mentioned taking her to court. Her stepmother is listed as a friend on her FB and lives in TX.

Thoroughly agree. I'm familiar with the area, too, and your description of it is spot on. No way to know why she was there until more news comes out.
