Sheriff’s Department seeking whereabouts of Bowman couple

Human remains found in home of missing Pearl River County woman. Now her husband is missing.

The discovery of the remains late Thursday came after Kathleen Bowman's family asked the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department to check on her, Ogden said. They spent Mother's Day with her on May 13 but have not been able to reach her or contact her by phone since then, he said.

Deputies went to the house on Wednesday and found Bowman outside, cutting his grass. He told deputies his wife wasn't home, Ogden said.

DNA tests at the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory will be performed in hopes of confirming an identity.

"It could be weeks or months before we know," Ogden said.

Man Wanted After Search for Missing Wife Finds Human Remains

Investigators seek to arrest a south Mississippi man who disappeared after deputies began looking for his missing wife and found human remains.

Deputies have issued an arrest warrant for Charles Bowman on charges of providing false information to law enforcement and felony aggravated domestic assault.

Deputies said be on the lookout for a white 2006 Nissan Maxima with a Mississippi handicapped tag D2745.

The body found in the residence was identified as Kathleen Bowman. Charles is still at large.

"Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the findings have led to additional warrants being issued for 61- year-old Charles Eugene Bowman for first degree murder and tampering with physical evidence, both of which are felonies."

Human remains found inside a Pearl River County home last week have now been positively identified as belonging to Kathleen Bowman. It also means her disappearance is now a murder case.

No one has seen Mr. Bowman since his wife went missing.

Investigators believe her husband, Charles, was involved in her death, but they have yet to determine an official cause of death.

Mississippi man sought in wife's death seen in Wyoming, Utah

Federal authorities say a Mississippi man sought in the killing of his wife has been seen recently in southern Wyoming and northern Utah.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 61-year-old Charles Eugene Bowman was seen June 30 at a gas station in Evanston, Wyoming, and Friday while camping six miles west of Vernal, Utah.

U.S. Marshals locate Pearl River Co. man wanted in connection with wife's murder

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department’s Chief Investigator Marc Ogden says Bowman was seen at a campground in Vernal, Utah Friday morning. Marshals were able to verify Bowman’s identity through surveillance video from a Walmart store near Salt Lake City, Utah on July 1. Officials say Bowman was also spotted in Evanston, Wyoming on June 30.

Bowman is familiar with the Utah and Wyoming area because he lived in Utah for many years before moving to Mississippi and still has family in the Salt Lake City area, according to Ogden.

Update: Murder suspect captured in Utah - News Mississippi

61 year-old Charles Eugene Bowman of Pearl River County was captured at Rainbow Cove Campground in Utah and taken into custody. Federal marshals had him under surveillance after his car was spotted there to make sure it was him before they arrested him.
