Stone County teen with autism missing more than 24 hours

STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Authorities in Stone County are searching for a teenager with autism who has been missing for more than 24 hours.

Logan Ellis Asproudis was last seen around 1 p.m. Thursday in the area of Wiggins Road. Authorities say he has Asperger's, which is a form of autism.

He is described as being 5'10" and weighing 160 pounds. He has curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a large brown mole on the left side of his head. He was last seen wearing a royal blue shirt, khaki pants, and a blue hoodie. He was also carrying a Bible.

Anyone who has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Stone County Sheriff's Department at 601-928-3191.

Teen with Asperger Syndrome disappeared in Wiggins. He left home with his Bible.

A 16-year-old student with Asperger Syndrome has disappeared, last seen wearing his school uniform and carrying his Bible.

Asproudis also has hyper-religiosity, a disorder in which a person has intense religious beliefs that can interfere with social functioning, Boggs said.

"He's not a bad kid," Boggs said, "although he was sent home from school once because he didn't want to do his work. He wanted to preach the gospel. He's not the type of kid who gets in trouble."

Logan does not have a cellphone, he said.

The teen lives on Wiggins Road with his mother, who reported he walked away from home about 1 p.m. Thursday.

He was wearing his school uniform — a royal blue polo shirt, tan khaki pants and a blue Tom Cat hoodie.

His father lives in Gautier, but his father has not heard from him, Boggs said.

Boggs said police are checking churches and vacant buildings and other places throughout the community.

made me feel uneasy to say the least. Then I saw this one.

No one notices your tears, no one notices your sadness, no one notices your pain, but they all notice your mistakes.

Makes me wonder what was going on inside his head bless him.

According to Stone County Sheriff's Lt. Ray Boggs, Logan Ellis Asproudis was found about a mile or two away from his home at a nearby ballpark. His family took him to be checked. Logan said he was hungry and thirsty, but Boggs said he appears to be otherwise fine.
