We really need some news. I can't believe this story isn't getting more press. That poor family.

Amber Rose Smith, the little girl in not much more than a halter top, I remember too and it is what springs to mind as I was reading here, but longer time has passed now :(

Yes, that's her! Possibly my best day ever on WS was when she was found.

Me either skibaboo, my hope is fading fast for little Myra.

We need some accurate news! Seems like these reporters are getting pretty sloppy with the few details they report. Amber Alert is off, no, it's still active, LE thinks it was an abduction, no, they are just considering that option, searches were called off, no, they just called a halt and will continue.
My head is spinning!
Please let this beautiful little girl be found soon, hopefully with someone who has not harmed her!

I don't know what to think about this case. There were so many other kids around that I don't think either of the parents could have gotten away with lying about the situation. I am sure that LE has interviewed the older kids about when and where they last saw little Myra. So it appears that she did just wander off. But it is sad that she was not seen or found in the initial searches. Maybe she was abducted....

Amen to this! Bumping to keep this precious child in the top threads. :(

Myra was front page of my paper today. Where is she??

I just think they need to look in that pond across the street again. :(

Anything new dear friend?

Not a thing. Someone posted a link to another prayer vigil that was held last night. This one was in the city of Canton, which is the closest town to Camden. Lots of community support. The local Dominoes Pizza was there to get flyers to put on all their outgoing pizza boxes. Every bit helps I suppose. I'm feeling discouraged. The weather is better, but I'm losing hope that she just wandered off. I could just cry. I did yesterday. Big 'ole tears.

This is so heartbreaking.

Our local media here is only giving this angel approx 1.5 minutes on the news. They keep saying updates are coming? Then they just reread what they had before and then back out of it. Then they repeat it as breaking news. IE amber alert called off, FBI taking over, etc. FBI as far as I know hasn't taken over they're just "helping". I've asked NUMEROUS times if local people can come help search but of course NO ANSWER! If this were one of my children I'd be screaming from the rooftops PLEASE GET OUT HERE AND HELP US FIND MY BABY GIRL! I'm lost in the CONSTANT confusion and inaccurate reporting here. I hope she is found soon!!!

Just some excerpts from this morning's Clarion-Ledger article.

“We fully expect a positive outcome,” he (MC Sheriff Randy Tucker) said. “We need to get Myra home, and again we want to stress to everyone we need your help, the family needs your help and we appreciate your calls.”

"There is also an ATV on the property surrounded in crime scene tape, but officials won’t elaborate on why that might be."

“At far as what was in the bags, obviously we’ll start where the child was last seen and we have evidence response folks who are going to that location and recovering evidence and all of this is a collective effort to discover where little Myra is,” McMullen (FBI)said. “I’m not going to talk about anything specific with regard to the investigation.”

"It was widely reported the Amber Alert for Myra had expired, something DPS Spokesman Warren Strain said is routine. He said an Amber Alert is only set up to last five hours unless new information surfaces in a case."

Didn't one article say her father went looking for her on an atv?

Yes. I would not be surprised if they searched it for evidence. Also, the car the mother was driving. They really have to do that, I would think. They do in all the cases where a child disappears in or around the home, from what I can recall.

I also found this interesting.

Tucker said officials believe Myra went missing between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Saturday but won’t discuss why police weren’t called until 4 p.m. or what happened between the time Myra’s mother saw her outside the home on Mount Pilgrim Road and when the family realized she was gone.

I read that the mother thought the father had her and the father thought the mother had her. Based on Tucker's comment, IMO, I am feeling that may not be believed or some details may have been proved not truthful. This doesn't mean that Myra didn't wonder off.

I just think the comment of they won't discuss why they weren't called until 4pm and what happen between when she was last seen by mom and when they know she was gone mean something. If they didn't, they would say exactly what happened, as they don't feel she was abducted.

The four wheeler that Dad went searching for her on? Why would it be surrounded with crime scene tape? :waitasec::eek:hoh:
