According to a post on the Missing Rebecca Paulk Facebook page, there will be a grid search for Rebecca beginning at 1:00 pm Sunday in Whynot, MS. They are asking for volunteers.

Here's a map to help with a general overview of the area. Just about everything on it is approximate, since I don't know exactly where the suspect lives or exactly where her car was found. This gives a much better idea of the surrounding area and the distances involved though. I'll add more information to it if it becomes available. If anybody local can pinpoint the exact location or address the vehicle was found, speak up.

Map Here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zAAmDUXJe_aE.k9pqeOixHU7Q&usp=sharing

This is a zoomable map, zoom in and out with the center wheel on your mouse, left click and drag to move around on screen. Click icons on left menu or on the map itself to read descriptions.

The search party will be meeting at 4602 Old Hwy 19 SE at the intersection of Hwy 19 S. That is the Whynot Volunteer Fire Department. Just providing if anyone wants to add it to the map.

‘Person of interest’ questioned in Paulk disappearance

http://www.demopolistimes.com/2015/09/25/pperson-of-interest-questioned-in-paulk-disappearance/

Seems like a complete mismatch, these two. I have to assume that when the surveillance videos of them together surfaced, everything was okay and they were out in public together. It's going to be interesting to find out how she knew him and what she was doing hanging out with him.

The cops should divulge where they were seen on videos.....you know, which businesses and which part of town. Somebody out there may have seen something they don't realize is important. As usual, there's probably going to end up being a sexual motive behind all of this.

Regardless to the prior circumstances, it still looks like Rebecca met foul play of some kind. She is a grown woman, not a child; so why would she have to run away? Why would she ditch her own car and leave so many of her personal belongings behind? Even her phone was found on the side of the road. Her parents have said that she calls them daily, but now she isn't calling. I hope LE is taking her disappearance very seriously, no matter what she may have done in the past.

Was she facing some charges soon? I thought I read that she was. If so, she might have decided to flee and make it look like she was abducted. She would not be the first. Not saying this is my opinion, but we have seen it happen before.

I kind of hope she did, as at least she would probably be physically okay.

With that many people out searching for her, and with the local fire department offering a staging area, I find it hard to believe in the theory that she simply ran away. Some kind of pretty solid information must have been provided by LE to convince the organizers and searchers otherwise.

What I can see happening is some unscrupulous individual taking advantage of her current legal problems and helping her disappear.......unwillingly.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie says Rebecca Paulk was seen with John Poisso after Paulk's family reported last seeing her.

“We have at least two locations that we have identified her and him being together in the Lauderdale Co. area," Sollie says.

Sollie says this is based on surveillance footage obtained from two businesses in Meridian.

“We have information that we believe substantially puts him knowing her in or around her disappearance," Sollie says.

The sheriff says investigators interviewed Poisso, who agreed to have authorities search his property, but the sheriff’s department decided to obtain a search warrant anyway.

Poisso is no stranger to law-enforcement. He has a record with the Lauderdale Co. Sheriff’s Dept. that goes back to 1999. He's been arrested for everything from possession of crystal meth, receiving stolen property, assault, felon in possession of a firearm, to civil complaints and contempt of court.

Poisso owns about 40 acres where the Sheriff’s Dept. has been searching. He also owns several different rental properties around the county.

I hope they've done a really thorough search around the area where her car was found. I know it sounds like common sense to do an intensive search in a small area, but LE seems to have a big problem doing it at times. Anybody here on Websleuths that's followed some of these "exhaustive searches" knows exactly what the hell I'm talking about. Even though LE may claim they've searched a 1/4 mile perimeter around where her car was found........search it again, you might be surprised what you find. I'll leave it at that for now.

With the history she has, and the people she was apparently hanging out with, she may have gotten all jacked up on drugs or alcohol and gotten herself lost and stuck in the mud. She might still be right there close to where her car was found. That possibility needs to be eliminated first, and then fan out from there with the search crews. Start with the easiest solution first.

This young woman, Rebecca is a victim of someone or something.
If drugs were involved, I don't believe any "drug involved" suspect would leave anything of value behind ( purse, phone, computer, or car if it was drivable).
My guess is that suspect was either unknown ( with weapon) to the victim or was someone that she did not view as a threat (ie leaving her belongings) and familiar with the area of Meridian and Whynot (and it's residents).
I cannot imagine her willingly leaving her phone, purse, etc. leaving me to consider that maybe she took said items with her and they were later returned to vehicle by the suspect, at which time her vehicle was moved.
Any thoughts on this ?
