How reliable is the height and weight of unidentified bodies? I don't want to eliminate someone if they are within a reasonable range. For example, if an unidentified woman's height says 6', is it reasonable to compare her to a missing person who is 5'4"? Other features are very similar, but not the height. Thank you.

Welcome to Websleuths!

A lot of this is dependent on the condition of the body and if it is in good enough condition to get accurate measurements. If it is unidentified skeletal remains, a lot more variance can be had in my and others' experiences. But if it is a body that was found in relatively good condition, it was most likely measured accurately. I have seen recommendations of no more than a 2" difference for MP and UID matches if the body is in good condition. If it is skeletal I would say turn it in anyway.

Hope this helps!
