DNA Solves
DNA Solves
DNA Solves
Hello just trying to catch up but it seems there are missing comments? Is there a suspect who burned items in yard? Is there another SM site that has more info?

Alan Wilmer was recently named as the murderer of 3 people in Virginia, he was a waterman and a hunter. Has anyone looked into him?
On this page of a thread, A. Wilmer is referenced a great deal..

Welcome to Ws @Olivier La Buse!
Could not find an update for the DNA, but this case has been brought forward to Othram and they are amazing at identifying people, hoping one day that this will be one of those resolved cases too.
Has anybody reached out to @othram?
Just my opinion, but I don't think lack of DNA or analysis is the problem. Reading through what LE has shared regarding this case, I get the impression they have a pretty good idea who might be responsible for the crime, but the POI hasn't been cooperative with LE (volunteering DNA, etc), and LE doesn't have enough without it, to make it stick (and POI knows it). Again, jmo.

Hope her little one is faring well ... would be almost 40 years old now. Wonder if they have any insight into the case, or have tried to prod LE at all?
Agree, although I'm sure her children are one of the reasons LE still pursues this case. I wonder if hypnosis has ever been considered.

Another small detail : I know a 2 year child testimony isn't what you could call the ideal lead, but he mentions the late Beverly looking through the peephole, I noticed the front door (at least from old photos ) apparently does not have it. If the back door had it , maybe the criminal entered and exited through the back door ?

Again, it is just my opinion but I am sure the perp was someone she knew well. Expecting a stranger she was surprised to greet a well known person. Just my gut feeling, nothing else.

This is a good point and I wonder how specific the child was about a peep hole or if she looked thru a window?

A child this little, it is difficult to accept his statements at face value. What could be obtained through hypnosis? . I do not believe it that much, but this is all that remains as far as he is concerned.

Tho we have seen the opposite to be true I have trouble thinking that whoever boldly did this during the day in 1987 only did it once.
If there is enough DNA to do geneaological profiling, that will be immensely helpul, IMO.

RSBM

Possibly after the killer finished, and the rage subsided, he didn't want to look at his handiwork, or perhaps he was reminded of the presence of the boy, and covered Mama's face to settle him.

But there were several "unwanted admirers" in her life. He could also very well have been a customer where she worked-- someone she didn't really pay any attention to (and it angered him).

If the killer was also the obscene caller, he could've deduced there wasn't a man in the home, through the obscene calls. He spoke with both Angela and Beverly, depending on who answered.

What strikes me is that the ad was neatly clipped, not torn, from the paper. And it was completely removed from the newspaper, as opposed to the newspaper being left there, with the ad circled.
Also the "circle" appears to be made by a rubber stamp. So who used a rubber stamp (with an oval) and red ink in their profession?

I wonder if he could've been a mailman or utility worker (meter reader, etc), or posing as one. That would allow him to carry a bag containing the "tools" to commit the crime into the house without attracting attention.

I partially disagree with Godwin's assessment, but the case is very solvable. All just my opinion.
But the little boy then, would describe the man as postman or worker man by their clothing??

They can still do it even he is an adult
Yes they certainly can. However, I was talking with a specialist in the area and memories are often mixed with fantasy when a kid is so young. But it's worth trying, for DNA results are not coming soon (I wonder why). I know the family a bit and think he wouldn't accept it.

the question would be 'do they (family) really want this case solved or leave it a rest cause its too painfull for them. I'm sure it must be very painful for him to go through this.
Did you say DNA results, what DNA results are you talking about?

Wouldn't accept, to what does it refer? TIA

Sorry, I meant DNA samples left by the murderer/rapist whose examination is still waiting for years. A few years ago cops involved in this case were discussing new technologies to get better results, so the sample really exist, problem is their quality. Beside that, I wonder if the problem is also money.

The members of the family I contacted want justice for Jae, no doubt about it. Problem with her son is if trying hypnosis could really help, as I said before, or bring up mixed or false memories..
