Ranger, NC. Due to a grandmother sending a letter to LE claiming that the composit sketch looks like her grandson and that he also drove the same kind of SUV that was reported and that he was visiting her at the time that Cornwell disappeared. Ranger, NC is twentyfive miles from where Cornwell was kidnapped.
 
Can anyone find any updates? I just looked for over 15 minutes, but found nothing :(
 
looked for updates, found nothing. The ice and snow are pretty much gone now though so hopefully we'll have some answers soon!
 
It seems they are taking a very long time to release information on these remains found by children playing in the snow. A few days ago skeletal remains were found near Wylie and the police already released clothing and personal effects information on the web regarding those findings within 20 hours of the remains being found. I wonder what is taking so long or perhaps these remains have been there an extremely long time making identification difficult.
 
yes well i can assure you no one cares in that apartment complex. It's such a rough spot I know, but it's almost like LE forgets that everyone is someones child. Its so sad. To think, plenty of my friends just dropped off of the map, it really could be anyone :(
 
i would call someone but i have no idea who to call. I tried to find the UID on the website for the police to get a reference number or name but couldn't find anything :(
 
Bumping again. :( Does anyone know how you would even look into getting more information? Just call LE and ask? It seems like this person has either been identified or forgotten :(
 
Well, Angels_ you sure live up to your nick. Wonder if a call to the Charlotte Observer crime reporter would raise some interest in this unidentified body? Perhaps they would check on the status if they thought anyone cared. I'd probably not have enough nerve to call LE.... :)

lol yeah it's kinda how i feel on calling LE. If the person isn't even listed as an unidentified on the website..well...:) TY for the tip on the reporter! I will be sure to do that! Thanks for the help!
 
ok so I sent the following to the writer at the Charlotte Observer that ran the first story listed.

Hi Mr. Wootson,

On January 30, 2010 you published a story on the Charlotte Observer (can still be found http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/01/30/1214759/kids-playing-in-snow-find-skeletal.html) regarding remains found in West Charlotte, specifically off of Forestbrook Circle. I kept watching the paper closely, looking for information as to who this person might be or any sort of update. I have also tried to maneuver through the Char-Meck website for any sort of update. I guess after seeing the body found on Lake Wiley and that being identified so fast and another story out that maybe I had just missed any kind of update and wanted to check and see if there was one. You see Mr. Wootson, this story is close to me. I lived in West Charlotte, I remember how rough Forestbrook in particular is, I just hate to see someone go forgotten because no one can hear the victims voice.

ok nothing back :( about to make my first Inquiry with the Local LE I guess...Just tell them i'm looking for an update to the remains found in west charlotte on Forestbrook drive on Jan 30, right? anyone know lol... and they should help...I hope....
