From your link Richard:

“Craven County deputies were called to the home in the area of Kinsaw Court in Vanceboro Friday afternoon. That's when they found the five deceased family members. Craven County Sheriff Hughes confirms for NewsChannel 12 the deceased are Michael Jay Ireland, his wife, April, and three children, ages 8 months, 3 and 4.”

“Sheriff Hughes said this case is being investigated as a murder suicide pending the results of the autopsies. North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation agents are also assisting in the investigation.”

“Neighbors in the neighborhood told NewsChannel 12 they were shocked to learn of the deaths. Boo Mobley said he was trying to pick up his grandchildren from the bus stop when he stepped outside and saw all the commotion. Mobley said deputies wouldn’t tell him what was going on but he heard about it from his neighbors later that night.”

Authorities: Family of 5 found dead in eastern N Carolina | WWAY TV
Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes told multiple media outlets that investigators found the five on Friday afternoon in their Vanceboro home
.
Why do these people keep murdering their entire family? This has happened so many times recently. So very sad that a father could shoot his 8 month old baby and three and four year old children.

He identified the adults killed as Michael Jay Ireland and his wife, April, and three children ages 8 months, 3 years old and 4 years old.

From your link Mimosa:

“Neighbors, who declined to be identified, reported the couple frequently fought. One man stated he could sometimes hear them shouting at each other, although he lives several doors down from them. Another neighbor stated that, “They argued a lot. Last week was the last time I heard it.” She said she opened her kitchen window and “I could hear her shouting and screaming.”

“The Irelands moved into the cul de sac in 2016, she said. “They’ve been arguing since then.”

(Snip.....)

“On Aug. 29, 2019, April started a GoFundMe campaign to assist her husband whom she said “suffered severely from depression among other mental illnesses and was recently injured very badly” from a “self inflicted” wound. The site had raised $130 of a $10,000 goal.”

“According to incident reports, deputies have been called to the Ireland's home six times, all of which took place between 2015 and 2017.”

“Reports say Michael Jay Ireland was arrested in January 2015 with assault on a female and willful and wanton injury to personal property. In November of that year, reports show that a 911 caller told officials Ireland had locked his wife out of the house, and the couple was yelling at each other. Incident reports also say that deputies were called to the home in January 2016 concerning assault on a female, simple assault and communicating a threat.”

It takes a real coward to kill the wife and children and then they are too afraid to face the consequences.

Sheesh! Another case?!? This is soo tragic!

This is just heartbreaking. What is going on?! I know from personal experience that it is so hard to leave an abuser, especially with children - you have to be almost murdered before they will stop custodial visits in most states and even then the abuser usually has to agree.

This I still can't get over. How many will be murdered before actual real changes to laws happen!? Look at the poor woman's FB page. I read down it last night just to see what happened, you know those red flags. I mean since he ate a bullet and all. But it's a roadmap full of warning shots. She should have been nowhere close to the guy. He was an addict but a violent one to boot. He was clearly unhinged long before this but it's like they just let it happen. Again. My brain's broken as ****. Laundry list of issues, been hospitalized many times etc. But I've never been violent. Ever. Not even as a kid. Hate violence. So while yea I got issues too, what is so broken upstairs to make you annihilate your family? I just cant understand it. And not sure were ever gonna know what triggered him.
My abuser was my mom. I tried running away but no matter what I told them they just gave me back. Lol different time I guess. So I don't know why women stay. I understand what you say about the court's. But I'm tired of seeing thses cases where this could have been avoided. Ok example: there's a violent history preceding the murder, right? 6 times starting in 2015. That January 2015 call involved violence on her. That alone should negate parental rights, period until they complete EXTENSIVE therapy and even then its baby stepped till he can reapply for visits through the court. Family services in every state is woefully underfunded and cant properly monitor what they should. Which leads into the bs politicians etc. And sorry you lived that because no matter whoms responsible for the scars, they are there.

First NotVeryBright, you are very bright and secondly, but not least, I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through!
I completely agree with you. Remember Josh Powell?! That that maniac had supervised visits in HIS OWN HOME was so, so wrong.
That’s what I mean - what do you have to do to get away from abusers these days? It’s almost become impossible.
This is just another brutal, heartbreaking, real life nightmare.
