parent has filed a missing persons report after her son wrecked his car on Cashiers Valley Road and has not been seen since.

Witnesses say 18-year-old Hunter Owens left the scene after a wreck, running down the road toward Keystone Camp, looking confused.

A friend of Hunter's was in the car when the wreck happened. The friend was taken to the hospital and treated.

The friend said Hunter was driving when the car hydroplaned. Hunter overcorrected and hit a telephone pole, the friend told Hunter's mother, Jamie Riddick.

Riddick said it’s very unlike Hunter to leave a friend behind. She thinks he might be scared of being in trouble.

His cell phone was damaged in the wreck.

Hunter Owens is 6’1' and weighs about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray and black short-sleeved shirt. He did not have a coat on at the time of the wreck.

Missing persons flyers have been put up all through Brevard.
