STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — The Stokes County Sheriff’s office is asking the public for help in locating a 37-year-old man that went missing last week in Germanton.

Scotty Manuel was last seen near Leake Memorial Church Road around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, June 23.

I am from NC, but I've never heard of Germantown. Probably a very close-knit little community where everyone knows everyone.

The Sheriff's Department missing poster has some additional information. Scotty may have been going fishing as he is known to do and had a rod and reel with him. Yes, very much so, but if he has "cognitive issues" as reported by the Sheriff, such issues could stem from injury, disease, or drug use, all of which would age the body.

Yes, but in the pics above, he looks thin -- even the shape of his beard makes his face look thin, seems to me. If he weighed 10--15 more lbs, he might look younger. JMO

I'm a little confused as to where he was seen and when because this article says he was last seen near Leake Memorial Church Rd. But his Dad says he left their house off Baux Mountain Rd to go to his grandparent's house and then he says that Scotty was last seen outside his grandparents house? Anyway, here are the places mentioned:

Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian male. Scotty has his name “Scotty” tattooed across his back. He has a sizeable scar on his left arm with smaller scars on both arms. Due to an accident that damaged Scotty’s hip and leg many years ago, he walks with a distinctive limp on the right side. Scotty has no birthmarks.

Details of Disappearance: At 4:00pm on Thursday June 6, 2022, Scotty left his parent’s Germanton home on foot to go fishing. He has been known to do this at various nearby fishing spots. He was last seen off Leake Memorial Church Road about 4:20pm.

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — A Germanton man suffering from a cognitive impairment went missing on June 23, according to a Facebook post from the Walnut Cove Fire and Rescue.

First responders said to use caution on the Baux Moutain Road and Leake Memorial Church Road as they are searching for 37-year-old Scotty J. Manuel Thursday. The rescue team said Manuel has medical issues that require medication.

The Winston-Salem Fire Department tweeted that their search and rescue team was also helping Stokes County look for Manuel.
