Netflix or Amazon Prime recommendations

That was such an interesting case!

Good grief! All of those phone calls! I can't imagine how they kept them so secret. I can understand how she was manipulated, it just makes you so much more vigilant around people like that. Their entire life is how to manipulate people.

One of the staff members hit it on the head. "Don't listen to anything they say", there inmates are not our friends or coworkers.

A documentary about opioids and Narcan is back on Netflix. It’s called Heroin(e) and is only 39 minutes long, but very worthwhile to watch.

In Huntington, West Virginia, the core of America's opioid crisis, three courageous women from three different backgrounds battle against the devastating epidemic at the epicentre of America's ongoing opioid crisis.

‘Society of the Snow’ on Netflix is excellent. It’s the true story of the 1972 plane crash in the Andes and most survivors were from an Uruguayan rugby team. It’s the greatest survival story I’ve ever heard of. I’ve read and watched everything about it and this movie deserves all the praise it’s getting. 10/10.

‘Expats’ on Prime is a 6-part series with great cast members, including Nicole Kidman. The main plot centres around the people involved with a missing child, and it’s interesting because of the characters and the arc of the person who was responsible for letting go of the child’s hand before he went missing. 9/10. A bit slow, possibly. But it may just be me.

ETA: Currently on Prime is Jlo’s ‘movie’ (This is Me Now, I think it’s called) and a documentary she made about the making of the movie. The movie itself is like an hour-long music video about her many romances and the documentary is just mainly showing Jlo struggling to get the movie made because no one believed in the project. For good reason!

I like Jlo and her movies are normally watchable for me. I couldn’t watch either of these. They’re both so boring and self-absorbed. 0.5/10 for both.

I now recommend Jlo’s movie & documentary. I think she captured the beginning of the end, imo. (And I wanted it to work out.)

The Last Narc on Amazon -

"the docuseries nterviews the DEA agent who spearheaded the investigation of Camarena's death. The agent, Hector Berrellez, states that the CIA agent Félix Ismael Rodríguez helped torture Camerena to learn what Camarena knew about US government connections to Mexican cartels."

What???

The CIA tortured DEA agent Camarena??? OMG!!!

I am just happy for Ben Affleck to have ''escaped'' from her. JLo lost touch with reality (and her true essence) a long time ago and she cannot live without a man for five minutes of her life. This break from men/relationships will give her time to heal and work on her self-confidence.

Highly recommend Man on the Inside on Netflix….Very entertaining series with Ted Danson. Predominantly lighthearted and fun with plenty of touching scenes as well. Eight episodes went by quickly!

I agree. And, I thought TD looked very nice in a 3 piece suit. :)

I watched Chimp Crazy on HBO Max.
It's by the producer of Tiger King.

It was binge worthy.

Oh, I love the blurb for this TV series. I remember Ted Danson (if I am not getting actors mixed up in my head) from the times he starred in CSI, many years ago. I definitely need to watch Man on the Inside.

I’ve been rewatching Ally McBeal (but on Hulu — so I guess it’s not really a Netflix or Amazon Prime recommendation)… BUT it’s been really interesting to see how ahead of its time the show was, in regards to social issues.

Plus! All of the musical cameos — Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Sting, Bon Jovi, Barry White, Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Al Green, Gladys Knight, Macy Gray.

There’s no way a show could afford to invite all of these musicians to make an appearance these days.

Thank you for the recommendation. We've started it last night and we love it so far! Too bad it's only 8 episodes, but good thing they've already renewed it for another season. It's going to be a long wait!

This was a wonderful series! I watched it and then recommended it to all my friends and family members.

There is nothing objectionable, no bad words, no nudity, etc. so I felt comfortable recommending it to everyone I know.

Thanks for the recommendations. Sometimes, I wonder if it was easier with three channels, only took 2 minutes to see there was nothing to watch.

We watched "American Primeval" yesterday. I am not sure what to say about it.
Seems it was easier back in the day with fewer choices. Plus if you wanted to change channels you had to get off your butt to do it!!! I sure miss the variety shows on Friday nights and family- friendly sitcoms
