    Misinformation impeding investigation?

From March 18, 2020, Radio New Zealand:

Detective senior sergeant Ciaran Sloan said detectives working on the case had been frustrated by what they believed to be significant amounts of misinformation designed to impede the investigation.

This includes the placement of Boyce's red ute in the Lake Chalice carpark, which police believe was put there to mislead the investigation team.

Despite this, some progress had been made and on 9 March this year, Marlborough Police seized a black Mazda utility vehicle, which they thought was connected to Boyce's disappearance.

The vehicle is undergoing a forensic examination.

Possible connection to an illegal drug lab/distribution chain?

From March 19, 2020, Stuff News:

Investigations area manager Detective Senior Sergeant Ciaran Sloan told Stuff the case, now known as "Operation Largo", was still an active focus for eight police staff, including two detectives drafted in from outside the region...

Sloan said a number of people linked with a Warwick St address were people of interest to Operation Largo.

    ...The Warwick St property was
raided a second time in December, with police finding evidence of a clandestine lab. Police said they believed the Warwick St property was at the heart of a "significant" meth chain supplying the Marlborough area.

The family of missing woman Jessica Boyce is relieved to learn police have suspects in their crosshairs, almost two years after her disappearance .

Boyce was last seen on March 19, 2019 near Renwick, Marlborough, in a red ute found three days later in the Mount Richmond Forest Park. Extensive searches of the park were unsuccessful.

The investigation became a homicide case in October 2019, and police said they believed the red ute had been left at the park to deliberately mislead them.

More at Boyce family expect closure, but little comfort, as police close in on 'justice for Jess'
