I just received word from New Hampshire State Represenatative Peyton ("Pete") Hinkle that the New Hampshire Sentate Judiciary Committee will be holding hearings on the establishment of a Cold Case Unit for the State of New Hampshire on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:15 p.m. in Room 103 of the New Hampshire State House in Concord.

It is our sincere hope that many of you who have have an interest in missing and unsolved cases (especially those of you from NH) will take the time to contact the NH Senate Judiciary Members listed below in support of this bill. It could be important not only to our family (the family of Maura Murray), but many families in New Hampshire whose loved ones are either missing or have been murdered and whose cases remain unsolved.
The Cold Case Unit was organized in the Fall of 2009 to combine the experience of the Attorney General's Office, the Major Crime Unit, and a city detective. The Unit is staffed with a prosecutor and three detectives who will focus on reviewing unsolved homicides, unresolved suspicious deaths, and missing person cases in which foul play is suspected in the person's disappearance. more
