Friends and relatives tell The Asbury Park Press ( ) that 2-year-old Tierra Morgan lived in Lakehurst with her mother and was having her first court-approved visit with her father in a month.
They say Arthur Morgan III was to return the girl to her mother, Imani Benton, Monday night.
Benton told the newspaper that she was informed by police Tuesday evening that the girl was found dead in Shark River Park in Wall Township.

They're looking for dad.....no photo of him yet

Oh goodness, those poor children having found the baby that way. I hope counseling will be offered to them to help work through it. As long as I live I'll never understand how the death of a child (or anyone) is the resolution to whatever issue they have going on.

RIP sweet, Tierra. You deserved so much more.

The girl's mother, Imani Benton, 24, dropped off the child with her father at a store Monday afternoon for the pair's first visit in a month, Simmons told the paper.

“He was supposed to be back at 6 and the court order said he could have her until 9 p.m., so she waited until 10 p.m. – and when he didn’t come back, she called the cops,’’ Simmons said.

Simmons said Morgan was driving a white Cadillac when he picked up Tierra, and Benton had given him cash for gasoline.

“Imani arranged for her to go see ‘Happy Feet’ at the movies, and she paid for the ticket

Praying for this child's mother on this day. May the young people who found this little one be able to process this trauma and move forward with happy lives, unmarred by the day they found this baby. May this discovery affect them only insomuch as they grow up to value and adore their own future little ones in the way this ones father should have.

I can only hope. I don't understand it -- CPS...or the courts...let this monster visit his daughter when he couldn't afford gas, lived in his car, and didn't have money for a meal? WTH is going on??

    Rest in peace sweet one.

I so agree with you, Mel! Why wouldn't they have set up visitation in an area safe for little Tierra? They do it all the time for children of homeless, neglectful & abusive parents. Was he not on anyone's radar for having the propensity to do this to his own child?:waitasec:

Continued prayers to the family of this sweet angel. I know I would be in the hospital too had someone did this to one of my babies. :(

A 2-year-old girl whose body was found strapped into her car seat and submerged in a stream at a Wall Township park Tuesday was alive when she was tossed into the water, Monmouth County officials said today.

At the same time, authorities charged the toddler’s father, Arthur Morgan III, with murder after an autopsy showed Tierra Morgan-Glover’s death was caused by "homicidal violence."

    Morgan remained at large tonight.
