A Help find Craig page has been set up

Help Us Find Craig Cavanaugh
There was a July 6th post on the "find page" that was linked that gives more information:

The last location I had with him via iPhone location sharing was at the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino for a rest stop in Payson, AZ at 1:39pm. After this, all communication ended, which is extremely out of the ordinary for him.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Seems odd there have been no updates, no news articles, nothing really.

  • #6
Wonder if casino staff or security can verify he was there. Should be lots of surveillance cameras one would think.

In the picture of both men, they are purchasing a freezer, which seems odd IMO, but can anyone tell what the item is on top of the freezer?

Some people on police Facebook page believe the small item on top of the freezer box is a package of white face masks. I think it kinda looks like that too. Also, the man closer to the register could have some sort of injury to his hand around his knuckles?? Moo. And yeah, the freezer is most concerning.

I saw those comments as well. They look like they might be face masks after looking again. Regarding the knuckles, I can’t tell if those are bruises, cuts, shadows, tattoos, etc. someone mentioned brass knuckle bruising based on where the discoloration is, idk.
I do find the clothes on the shorter man to be strange, as they are very large for his size. MOO, but maybe they are Craig’s? Craig seems much larger than this guy, and those could be work clothes he was traveling with. I wish we knew what his job was.

Looks like a Home Depot store - orange shelving, orange cart, concrete floor.

I'm having a little trouble reading the box - is it a 7 cu ft chest freezer? 2 cu ft?

The thing on top almost looks too round to be respirators. I looked through 6 pages here for that packaging and didn't see it but I'm not convinced one way or the other... Respirator Masks - Safety Equipment - The Home Depot

It’s a 7 cu ft freezer chest. The location for the specific Home Depot was provided as well.

My first thought on the item sitting on the freezer was a freezer thermometer. Home Depot sells several round ones about that size - I used to have one.

I hadn't read that yet but now I see that it was indeed Home Depot and the specific location (Glendale) is mentioned in the article you linked below.
9 days have gone by since Craig’s credit card was used by two unidentified men, and it was only released today. Not sure if that’s normal, but I get the feeling not much effort has been put into this. MOO

Police in New Mexico asking for public's help in locating missing man last seen in Payson
Let's get this information on the thread so we're all on the same page. :)

From the article:

[...]

Farmington police out of New Mexico posted surveillance photos of two men at a Home Depot. They say they used 44-year-old Craig Cavanaugh's credit cards the day after he went missing. Now, nine days later, his community is concerned.

Police say Cavanaugh left Farmington, New Mexico on the Fourth of July to head to a job site in Peoria. Since then, he's vanished. A source close to the investigation tells us Cavanaugh was at Mazatazal Hotel and Casino before his phone turned off. According to police, Cavanaugh drove a 2012 Toyota Tacoma with license plate 4FR5994.

"We were able to trace [Cavanaugh's] phone to Payson, but we haven't been able to trace it since," said Georgette Allen with the Farmington Police Department.

Now detectives are taking a closer look at two men seen on surveillance at a home depot in Glendale. Police say they used Cavanaugh's credit card here. They also made purchases with his card at a Maverick gas station in Payson, as well as a QuikTrip in Peoria between July 5 and July 7. Police are investigating how the two people at Home Depot could be involved in Cavanaugh's disappearance.

Anything else we know about the truck?

Surely they have pulled video from parking lots and the gas station where these men are using his card, to see if they are driving Craig's truck? This is scary...Craig's phone is unreachable, he is missing, and strangers are travelling around using his card. Where are you Craig?

Oh, I agree, Blue Ridge. We may not know, but I bet LE has seen surveillance footage of his truck if it is being driven by the men who used his card. If they aren't driving it hopefully, LE knows what they are driving.

I'm also wondering what kind of traffic cameras there are in the Glendale / Peoria area. Haven't had a chance to look at that yet. MOO

Has anyone seen the date CC's card was used at Home Depot in Glendale?

Here is my attempt at piecing this together. Let me know if you see anything wrong or have something to add. :)
