The photos on that flyer weren't of the best quality for a reconstruction, but I had to make-due with what was available. I had to make some severe adjustments to the tilt of her head, and I was able set the placement of her features by lining them up with the side-view photos. Here is what I came up with.

She has a very distinctive face, very soft, rounded, a bit "doll like" features. I hope DNA can be found and worked. She needs her name back.
I am still quite sure her transverse abdominal scar is a csection. One single section normally leaves just mild pelvic adhesions that are centered around the uterus and those can be easily missed with decomposition. The lower abdomen is the first body part for decomp to start since it starts from the bowel bacteria. It consumes small structures very quickly after death.

Good point. I don’t know much about decomp, and everything I know about c-sections was from my own. I had a TON of adhesions, so I assumed that would be the same for others but I guess maybe not! She was found in December, and it had snowed, so that would slow decomp (I think) but it still could be enough to deteriorate before being examined.

Every surgery leaves adhesions but theyre relatively mild after csection compared to other abdominal surgeries. And decomp in December happens slower but comes from the inside core body temperature first.
Another option would be a cosmetic surgery scar to reduce excess skin after weight loss.

Her physical description - hair color, eye color, height, weight, strong chin, high upper lip. She would have had to have permed her hair, but alot of girls did that in 1974.

Yes. My feeling is also that it is a DV case. Another young wife who was murdered by a spouse/partner. Like Evelyn Colon, Patricia McGlone, Patty Otto, Mary Cook and countless others.

When she turns out not to be as obedient as he wanted, he becomes violent, kills her, hides her and then whines that his wife left for greener pastures. Files divorce in absentia, knowing noone can object. Gets on with his life and leads a quiet family life.

I can't count the amount of times I've read the same type of story from a husband/fiance/boyfriend/ex-boyfriend. "I went to sleep and she was gone", "She stormed off after an argument", "She left me for a mystery man"
And to think there are many more which haven't been reported or entered into public databases...

YES. It seems like a very young married woman, who had a child very young via c-section, would be easy to find. But not if nobody reported her missing.

Websleuthers determined that the unknown person is actually this Jane Doe. I don't see a resemblance to Billig imo

A few things that stood out to me from the file:

-"Identifying Marks: across the midline of the lower abdomen 1.5 cm. above the distribution of the pubic hair is a well healed, balanced, slightly elevated, surgical Pfannenstiel scar measuring 15 x 0.3 cm. in greatest dimension. 2.5 cm. above the middle of this is a second blanched, well healed, depressed surgical scar measuring 1.1 x 0.2 cm."

- "Based upon teeth #'s 2, 15, 18, and 31 that were not completely erupted, as well as the only crown formation of the third molars, the age of this individual is somewhere between 13 1/2 and 15 1/2 years old"

- there were no drugs found in her system. They tested for "ethanol [alcohol], narcotics, stimulants, tranquilizers, propriterity compounds, and barbiturates".

- "freshly broken blisters on the balls of both feet, which might mean she was hitchhiking, or had just taken a job as a waitress; or might mean nothing at all."

Nadine O'Dell looks like a good possible. I've looked around and I'm surprised that I can't find her name associated with this UID case, given that this is such an old case and that there are so few possibles to choose from.

The Physical description fits very closely. Her jawline is spot on.

But the circumstances are a little iffy.

There is a 1,600 mile separation between Inkster MI and Santa Fe NM, and about a 3 1/2 month time frame. The postmortem interval is only a couple of days, so she would have had to have been hauled around the country for 3 1/2 months before being killed.

But the circumstances are that she was apparently snatched off the street without any evidence of murder (such as blood) left behind. Also, there are no obvious suspects among the people who knew her. So it's not completely implausible.

And there is no matchup on jewelry, but the victim was found naked (except for the earrings and ring on her finger), so maybe her boyfriend's HS ring was discarded along with her clothes.
