Same. I def don’t think it’s a coincidence he paid for her trip and then wired that money. I think he wanted her away from all of this so paid for her trip so she was far away. And then also wanted her to be ok financially so he wired the money. But keep in mind you need to have the receivers bank info and SWIFT code to send international wires, so if she did receive the money, she would have had to have given him that info at some point. They may have had an agreement, idk. She could have known something was up with him and that’s why she supposedly loaded her car to the brim with her belongings, then he agreed to pay for her oversees trip. Then he went on his rampage. Idk. I think info will trickle out here and there but unless he explicitly told someone or left a note, we will never have a solid answer IMO.

All that rambling being said, I hope Newsweek’s article was thoroughly vetted, otherwise it’s making major accusations about this lady. It took like five minutes of googling to poke huge holes in their statements. JMO

If I was in his shoes, it wouldn’t be coffee. Someone needs to step in and tell him to stop taking. Just sayin.

Thanks BETTP! I m sure the coffee place has a record of charges.....how else would they know which card to bill. Not only that, the baristas were able to note MLD was very short when she stood next to him (Paddock) and even knew exactly what they ordered every time they came in. Pretty sad when the barristas are more aware of his habits, than his family members. Now it makes absolute sense so many casino employees recalled his presence as a regular gambler.
And, as far as the 100K being sent to Phillipines, maybe he decided to try and be generous because she wanted to leave? I don't know....and speculating is just "speculating on my part." I'm pretty grumpy until I get my first cup-a-Joe in the a.m.....but he sounds mean spirited. Also, the LA Times reporter, Louis Sahagun, has a good reputation. And as a matter of fact, was awarded a Pulitzer Prize on a team that wrote a series of articles. He was also a Pulitzer finalist in 2015, too. (I purposely waited until I could find the story in MSM and link if for our forum.)

Totally agree. You can tell how flabbergasted he is that his brother did this. I can't even imagine.

Not for nothing it was told by one barista who coyly posed for the camera. Literally nothing to back it up. Why would the gf repeatedly ask for the card on separate occasions if the killer kept berating her each time? IMO it’s the same as the girl who said a Hispanic woman yelled they are all going to die - some people insert themselves into tragedies. For example Tania head. Extreme, but the first example coming to my mind.

Flabbergasted and maybe not in his right state of mind JMO. He needs to stop talking tho bc him talking for 33 min straight about how wealthy and intelligent the killer was isn’t coming across the right way when 58 victims are dead and so many injured. He doesn’t seem in his right state of mind and should prob avoid the press moving forward. He’s not helping make his brother seem more human, he’s actually doing exactly the opposite for me. I am only speaking for myself of course.

Definitely not in his right state of mind. He went off on tangents and ended up not even answering the questions he was asked. One thing I did learn is that Stephen was a big time gambler. High roller I'd say. It's marginally possible to me that this had to do with anger over a gambling debt, but I doubt it. I got more of an impression that he might have had a "god" complex, the way the brother talked about how it was not unusual to be asked to go get him a sandwich. Maybe he was really just evil and wanted to see if he could pull this "stunt" off, even knowing he would die in the process. We'll probably never understand because no matter what the reason, taking the lives of so many strangers who had nothing to do with whatever his problems were just doesn't make sense because rational, sane minds aren't wired to think that way.

Did she produce any of these receipts? Did article claim they saw any of the receipts?

Oh, I agree with everything in your post. But in shooting for that long, and that firearm reaching such temps, using the Bump Stock, combined with the fact that this was not a "fit" man, I can see where he'd have to take a break, or at his age, have forgotten his eye protection, or left his gloves in the car. He had a look, to me, of someone who was a bit of a slob. He may have had the gloves but he had to stop and dig them out. He obviously forgot about the fire alarm in his room. Even narcissists are fallible, they are, after all, human, and after age 60 it's not uncommon to forget things (for some of us even earlier than that). OP had said that maybe he'd stopped and recorded his manifesto. Not a bad theory either.

I also wonder if the brother inflated things a bit. Maybe to try to give the killer some dignity or praise, idk. But something is still off to me about how this family apparently has so much money.

He had the gloves on for sure. Daily mail has a photo of the room with his body in it. Body has black gloves on. I don't think he forgot anything. This was planned meticulously.

FYI - alot of filipinos send money to their families back to the Phillipines, I personally don't think anything too much will come into it.

Hopefully she will have some insight into darkness he fell into.

All the condolences to all victims and loved ones involved in this non-sense tragedy. :heartbeat:

  20. Time and time and time again relatives/neighbors/co-workers strongly believe so-and-so would never ever do such a thing as murder! But much to their surprise, it happens! No point imo to look hard to give a murderer a pass, either. That's highly speculative. In most cases they are just plain evil!
