    Last Name: Koecher
    First Name: Steven T
    Age: 30
    Gender: Male
    Height: 5'10
    Weight: 180
    Eyes: Blue
    Hair: Blonde
    Complexion: Fair
    Race: White
    Date of last contact: 12/13/2009

Steven is from ST George UTAH. He was last seen on surveillance video striding away from his vehicle which was parked in a cul de sac in Sun City Anthem, Henderson NV. On Friday, December 11, 2009 at 3PM he assisted two juveniles who were locked out of their home in the St. George area. Between December 11 and December 13 he held two cell phone conversations with friends indicating that he was in the Henderson area. His car was discovered on December 15, 2009 still parked in the cul de sac.

Steven had recently started a window washing job part time and had been handing out flyers. His last financial transaction was on Saturday December 12th when he purchased Christmas gifts at a Kmart in St George.

Here are some links to media and other sites that have been helping to draw attention to Steven's case-perhaps we can draw some of the traffic on the Susan Powell thread to this one to help energize this investigation!!

    Concrned Ctzn,
A few posts back you wrote that something bad must have happened in the Anthen area because this guy has all those security cameras. But, he's a retired U.S. Marshal, and who knows how many lowlifes have threatend to look him up after he's helped put them away ? KWIM ?

    Laytonian,
You know, that guy in those videos really DOES look way thinner than SK in his last photos, and IMO younger than 30. I guess it is SK, but still ????

My thoughts on fasteddy4's thoughts from thread 4:

I'd be happy with ten minutes before, and ten minutes after....from ALL cameras -- not just those that "caught" the car and walking figure.

The Taco Time receipt has to be cash; it doesn't show on the bank statement (ie, I was not given a "posted" date).

You DO make a good point, and I mentioned this a day or two ago: on the Nevada run, the only receipts/bank statement data we have, is FAR from St George. Wendover, SLC, Springville, Nephi. That's two hours from Ruby Valley and almost four hours from St George.

I'll stake my life on this: There was "snack debris" in his car when it was found. Wrappers, or something. I don't know why I don't mention it on the timeline. I need to find the reference where I first read it.

We also know that he left a loaf of bread (with only four slices gone) and peanut butter with a "schmear" out of it, in the kitchen of the house.

Maybe he had a couple of sandwiches with him? And maybe he did take picnic lunches when he travelled...which would account for no food receipts from "near" St George?

(EDIT: found the reference. It's "snack food" and it was reported by his Las Vegas cousin Jeff Bradshaw on 9 Jan to the SL Tribune -- and I've updated the URL.

Personal comment: it'd be nice if reporters didn't generalize things...and would report "chip wrappers and a peanut butter sandwich" and "matches stuff he bought in Mesquite because we found the receipt in the car". (I know, I know....I've never had anyone missing.)

OK...but an alarm system does more for security than video cameras. My neighbor is a US Marshall. I will ask him...his opinion. I know he doesn't have cameras...b/c he lets us to the monitoring and you can see his house from ours.

I want to know if the AT&T number had been called before from his phone...as in frequently before he went missing. AND if you call voicemail from Stevens phone with a pre-set key, what number does it dial? I am having a hard time detailing my question, sorry. I am trying to determine if it was Steven or someone else who called the AT&T number.

We've previously received an answer regarding "had he dialed the voicemail number before", with the answer being "yes".

The family hasn't answered other specific phone questions, detailed on other q&a pages.

In regards to his eating timeline between the time he left his room on the 12th until the next day at noon.....we don't know where he was. Could he have gone to a party or someone else's house and had something to eat there.? Maybe a big early breakfast somewhere. I know when I was in my party days, we would stop somewhere after the clubs had closed for a recoup big breakfast...anywhere between 3 and 6 am. Someone else could have paid or maybe he had money at that point (for some reason)? I don't gamble (casinos), but don't they provide food and drink for players? I really didn't want to go here, but you know, guys desparate for money can make short cameos doing things and get a fast $300.00 or so. (look up You Tube-two nice boys) Just sayin....

Let's get real here. What are two Mormon men, officials in a church, who live in St. George, doing in LV at 8 o'clock in the morning? And one was on this way back when a phone call was made. Hence, he had to have been there for awhile doing something or did they just go for a jolly ride to LV and turn around and come back because they were bored at that time of day/night? I think we should go for the obvious with our questions......Thoughts..

Holly, I agree with you that it's weird, especially given that one or both of them were supposed to be at a church service that morning.... That whole "can you take over for me?" " no I'm in Vegas" "so am I but I'm on my way back now so don't worry about it" is bizarre. Two friends livin' it up in Vegas? But then there would be no reason for the (apparent) phone call. If the call shows up on cell phone records, then maybe what GW says he said (lol) isn't necessarily the truth. If GW were helping SK to run away to a new life, maybe it was really "ok man, it's all sorted out, have a good life" "thanks for your help" "no problem, you take care" -- as SK was moving on out to what would eventually be dropping the car at Anthem, and GW was on his way back to church. It really needs to be something big for both of them to miss church, I'd say.

I'm thinking the phone calls to take over the meeting were just to get out of the meeting with the folks in St. George. Both of them calling and answering their phones just make it seem more legit.

What time was it that GW got back to St. George?

Of course it's possible that if he's really that broke, he might just be going hungry between meals.

I know the LDS church has really good structure to help and support people who are in trouble like this, but I'm wondering whether he was too ashamed and embarrassd to go to them for help, especially if he had been helped in the past. It makes me wonder if he went to Las Vegas knowing he was going to be living on the streets.

Maybe his friend followed him to try to talk him into coming back?

Do we know how long GW was in Vegas? Did he leave the night before like Steven? Was he there for the weekend? Did he just go down for continental breakfast? I still feel like we need to more about GW. Does he have a girlfriend down there? I realize KCN isn't privy to all this, but it seems important.

It's also so disappointing to watch, even on WS, these cases become cold. I remember the days when there were a hundred posts a day on Steven's thread, but now they are slowly dwindling. Please keep sleuthing WS members. Steven and his family need us.

Has Naegle talked to AN. And did AN call Steven? Frankly, if one of my friends stopped by my parents house, my parents would call me right away to tell me someone was looking for me, and they had lunch together etc. Then you would expect AN to call Steven and be like "What's up? Do you want to talk or something?" And wouldn't she probably say "Oh your headed home through Salt Lake? Why don't you stop by or meet me for lunch?" If this did happen, maybe AN knows something about Steven's travels.

Even if Steven never called her, wouldn't the fact he appeared to be trying to contact her make her want to contact him????

I can tell you this, it is now being mentioned on the 3 main news channels here. It really needs to hit CNN and Fox News now.

Unless there is real news we just are left speculating on known facts. The possible car on Evening Lights was worth quite a buzz but that faded as I think (and I don't pretend to speak for all) the trend of opinion was against that dark object being a car.

I'd like to know what if anything the family was able to see on the video after that last clip of Steven going down the block. We are not getting much feedback from family of late so we are not being given much new information.

Laytonian, thanks for clearing the "snacks in the car" though, although I am not sure it totally kills the idea that Steven was probably getting together with someone for lunch on Sunday. Who has ever met up with someone at noon on any day of the week and having lunch has not been mentioned? Not very often.

As far as that not looking like Steven in the videos. As laytonian reminded me way back when, the images in the videos are slightly distorted because of the lenses being fish-eyed. So as far as the guy in the video looking thinner, maybe. But to me it seems a bit impossible to tell how heavy or skinny the guy is by looking at him from side and back through a fish-eyes lens while he is wearing jeans and a loose fitting shirt from like 30 feet away. Is he 300lbs.? No. Is he 100 lbs.? No. But he could be anywhere between 150 and 190. The true test will be if we can get a video of Steven walking. A walk is like a signature, everyone's is different.

And the whole idea of a body double being on those videos, as I have stated before, is a little hard for me to wrap my mind around. That sounds more like a movie. I guess we have to take a serious look at it. But, if so, the car was dumped on a Sunday. At noon. Somehow a body double, Sunday at noon, in a residential neighborhood just doesn't make any sense and is full of all kind of scenarios where someone could get caught. Why risk it? 2am, North Las Vegas in a Wal-Mart Parking lot. Done. Wouldn't that be easier and safer?

That's all I got for now.

...and that's the importance of knowing the exactly date/time/address of the Tesoro and Maverik purchase receipts. It would "place" him somewhere, and tell us if he was off-route in SLC.

But we don't know how close AN and SK were; apparently, they "dated" a few times. Maybe the contact, reported by her parents, wasn't welcomed by her? Maybe he was trying to make amends? We have no idea...because all we know about a two-hour visit is that he ate lunch with the family and mentioned "maybe going to Sacramento".

From what I can tell, in my communications with Naegle, there are some things that are "investigative" and cannot be revealed. But not everything. Naegle has to work within the family system and the investigation.

But there's roadblocks. On Facebook, one of Deanne Koecher's coworkers reports that a "search fund" had been established at Zion's Bank.
But you have to go INTO the bank to donate. That does how much good? Me and maybe two other people here, who live near a bank branch?

So I contacted Zions Bank's customer service via email, explained that there was a fund set up and asked how people could donate via the internet. Three days later, I received a response that customer service could locate no such fund. So I just copied/pasted the response into an email to Naegle, before she left on her hiatus.
