"The biggest problem for the president I think at trial and it’s gonna be on appeal, is he decided not to testify. He didn’t even appear in the courtroom. That not only triggered inferences, but likely poisoned the well a bit for these jurors. Jurors don’t like it. They don’t like it in criminal or civil cases when the key accused party doesn’t speak to them."

I am relieved that DJT is finally being held accountable, for one of *many* sexual assaults I have no doubt he committed over the decades. While it is only a civil trial, I am still thrilled for E. Jean Carroll that the jury found him liable for sexual battery and defamation.

The DJT rape case that still haunts me, that I wish had gone forward was the one alleging that DJT and J. Epstein raped a 13 year old. That one was dark. Sadly, I am not at all surprised that the plaintiff of that one decided to drop the case. She was afraid, especially since Trump was the presidential nominee. I have no doubt she was threatened behind the scenes.

So, will the famous cable network (CNN) continue on with their celebratory town hall tomorrow night giving the Donald a platform to denigrate the plaintiff, the judge and the jury? Or pretending to the audience that nothing at all even happened?. How can they defend any adulation and pumping up the candidacy given this unanimous verdict of sexual battery and defamation?

They should cancel or grill him on the live air. Ultimately CNN is all about ratings, (as most if not all media outlets) after all, so they'll most likely go ahead as planned.

Oh he had an urgent golf date in Co. Clare, didn't you know? No time for court. We had to put up with him here in Ireland instead. He did give a surreal impromptu press conference on his golf course that we cherish. We're still parsing the insanity of his random utterings on a plethora of topics days later. Among his many comments he did claim that he had to cut short his trip to Ireland to head to court in New York. Strange that he never showed up...

Trump calls sexual abuse verdict 'disgrace'

In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump reacted to a federal jury finding him liable for sexually abusing and defaming advice columnist E Jean Carroll, and ordering him to pay a total of $5m in damages:

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS. THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE – A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!
