Having trouble editing— apologies- wanted to add, I thought they said on CNN that a few were MAGA supporters and one had to leave their maga hat in their car. Any confirmation anywhere? Some are trying to claim he was found liable “because its NYC and he couldn't get a fair trial” . Would like to have info on the jurors, if possible. Understand they wisely have been protected thus far.

The maga hat in the car had to do with a juror in a different trial, Manafort's.

In this trial, there was one who said they didn't watch much news, but gets his news from podcasters like Tim Pool, a popular pro-Trump right wing podcaster and YouTuber. This is the 31-year-old juror mentioned in the post above.

Thanks. Any info about their political leanings?
In one article, and it's been posted here, the report is that one juror told the Judge that he didn't read newspapers and got his news from Tim Pool, whose podcast is generally seen as extreme right leaning/conspiracy theories (today's episode claims that the people jumping on tracks in NYC are "leftists").

The guy still voted with the rest in favor of the Plaintiff.

Kaplan knew Trump handed her gold (or with Trump, something gold-plated) with the “not my type” testimony and his defense of the “Access Hollywood” comments. Both featured prominently in her closing argument. Both were pieces of evidence that didn’t exist before Trump offered them up on a platter. Without them, Carroll’s case was significantly weaker. But Carroll’s team most likely knew one of the primary rules of Trump litigation: if you get him into a deposition, anything can happen.

The ranting continues.,.

About two hours later, Trump continued his all-caps rant, slamming senior New York Judge Lewis Kaplan, who presided over the case.

“WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A TRUMP HATING, CLINTON APPOINTED JUDGE, WHO WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE RESULT WAS AS NEGATIVE AS IT COULD POSSIBLY BE, SPEAKING TO, AND IN CONTROL OF, A JURY FROM AN ANTI-TRUMP AREA WHICH IS PROBABLY THE WORST PLACE IN THE U.S. FOR ME TO GET A FAIR ‘TRIAL’,” he posted.

Donald Trump is a pathological serial liar. He lies about everything; from his wealth, his health, his height and weight, his inaugural crowd, he even freaking lied that it didn't rain that day.

He lied about how dangerous COVID was, he lied about Hurricane Dorian's track, he lies about physically strong men who always seem to call him sir, while crying about how poorly he's been treated. And most memorably and destructive the lie about the election being stolen.

He's a big, fat liar who has never been familiar with the truth. So it's understandable that he'd lie through his teeth about his interaction with E. Jean Carroll. Most of Trump's lies have either to do with self-aggrandisement or to cover his capacious rear end. He treats people so abominably it's understandable that he forgets the victims he leaves in his wake because he is incapable of normal human emotions like regret and because he's already moved on to his next 'mark'.

I think E. Jean Carroll is a very brave woman who deserves justice from this despicable person and I hope she can live a normal life free from fear of retaliation from his rabid supporters. I hope she doesn't care that she probably will never see a penny that this disgusting man owes her.

There are so many great lines in Bob Dylan’s 1964 masterpiece “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)” but this one comes to mind today with the public “exposure” (ahem) of Trump for sexual abuse, which reminds listeners that even the most powerful people will ultimately be judged…

"But even the president of the United States sometimes must have to stand naked."

i was intrigued by the portion of the former President’s / defendant’s deposition when questioned about who was shown in a photograph. If I recall correctly, the defendant answered that he thought one individual shown was his former wife, Ms. Maples - apparently confusing her with the plaintiff? And yet in similar questioning he went on I believe to indicate that the plaintiff was not ‘his type’. And yet didn’t he confuse the plaintiff with his former wife? MOO.

Yes he did, even though his wife at the time was also in the picture.

I grew up in palm beach county, which means I grew up knowing he was a sleazy conman. I remember laughing it up when he started getting into politics. I assumed it would be obvious to most sane people that he was a sleazy conman. I obviously miscalculated many things. Lessons have been learned.

From the Carroll story:

Trump in a Oct. 12 social media post wrote “This ‘Ms. Bergdorf Goodman case’ is a complete con job.”

“And, while I am not supposed to say it, I will,” he added. “This woman is not my type.”

Trump during a deposition by Carroll’s lawyers mistook a photo of Carroll for his ex-wife, Marla Maples.
Not a Trump fan but I really feel sorry for his youngest son. That’s brutal stuff to deal with in school..,

Here’s what we do know about the nine jurors:

  • A 37-year-old man who works for New York Public Library, has a bachelors degree in accounting and a masters in library sciences. He’s married with one child.
  • A 65-year-old physical therapist who lives in the Bronx with his wife and four children. He says he gets his news from CNN.
  • A 26-year-old man who was born and raised in Manhattan, dropped out of college to work and now does security for a retail company. He says he gets his news from social media.
  • A 46-year-old Bronx native with a high school education who doesn’t watch news and works as a janitor and as a sales associate in clothing retail store.
  • A 31-year-old man from the Bronx who works in security and told the judge he has no children “that I know of.” He said he avoids news but listens to podcasts occasionally.
  • A 55-year-old woman from Westchester County who works as a collections coordinator for a health-care facility. She lives with her significant other and has a son.
  • A 60-year-old Rockland County man who is married with two kids and works for a hospital in Manhattan. He said he doesn’t watch any particular news channel.
  • A 62-year-old woman who works in a high school and whose husband works in a factory. She said she gets her news from CNN.
  • A 66-year-old woman who is retired from the health care industry. She lives in the Bronx with her retired husband and says she watches local TV news.

I’m sure red hats will screech bias, but I feel like that’s a pretty good spread as far as age range.

Wait, what? He didn't grow up in Florida.

I lived far away from NY in the late 80s and early 90s and I knew even then that he was a sleazy conman.

Perhaps your experiences were similar to mine.

These are pretty detailed descriptions. I hate to think that someone who works with any of them will figure out why they’ve been absent for a few weeks and out them.
