The New York State Police in Cobleskill is conducting a missing person investigation. Amanda Putorti, 16, of Richmondville, NY, has been missing since March 1, 2018. If anyone has any information regarding her whereabouts or has had contact with Putorti, please contact the State Police at

A ladder was still propped against her window and items, including some of her medications, had been packed, Cepiel said.

Investigators have interviewed family members and friends, and believe the girl may have run away with her boyfriend, the trooper said.

Putorti called her father on Tuesday to say she was safe and had not been harmed but would not say where she was, Cepiel said. The investigation remains open

Missing teen found hiding in wall in Schoharie County, troopers said

Troopers went to a Schoharie County home to investigate a tip Putorti was hiding there and was not being held against her will. Putorti was found in a small compartment in a wall. Putorti remained hidden with the help of several people.

John Winnie, 34; Jeremy Schaefer, 38; and a 17-year-old who was not identified by troopers were charged with obstruction of governmental administration and child endangerment.
