PICKUP DRIVER MISSING SINCE CRASH ON DEC. 24

A Buffalo man has been missing since his pickup crashed the morning of Dec. 24, and police said it's possible he was injured and collapsed somewhere.

Edward J. Fuller, 28, was seen at a South Ogden Street nightclub before his pickup crashed into a tree near 323 S. Ogden at about 2 a.m. The pickup's driver -- believed to be Fuller, based on a description by a witness to the crash -- was seen getting out of the truck and running east up a driveway toward nearby back yards.


"We are surmising that he . . . hit this tree and panicked and took off," said Lt. Larry Baehre, a Buffalo police spokesman.

Baehre said the air bag had deployed in the pickup, which had heavy damage to the front end. Deployment of the air bag may have affected the driver, he said.



Among the possibilities is that Fuller collapsed after fleeing the truck, Baehre said.

"There's no indication of foul play at this time. It's strictly a missing-person case," Baehre said.


Fuller is white, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 165 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and several tattoos on his arms and one leg.
