On this WebSleuths forum, member jporembski, who
is Jane Ann Porembski's son, communicated some
more information and agreed to allow it to be posted
publically below. {Almost verbatim, some editing for
brevity or clarity made}.
{jporembski states:}
I have VERY little to no information.
She worked at Macy's but which store I am not sure.
As for what her position was, I don't know for sure
but I think she just was a general sales clerk.
My understanding is that she never made it to work
that day.
{A question was asked if there was a clock-in system
at work, if perhaps she could have clocked in on
that morning, left for lunch and perhaps never
returned to work, thereby perhaps never clocked out
of work & therefore was perhaps not recorded as
working that day by her workplace?}
Unknown if there was a clock-in system, no clock-in
system or anything. Although, this is really all
heard from my dad.
{She had} No medical conditions that I have ever
heard of.
As for theories, the only real theory that ever
popped up was that the woman she was living with
killed her or did something. Of course, there was
always the theory that my father did something but
I don't believe that since I grew up with him my
entire life until 2008 when he passed.
Here is some background {sourced from what} I grew
up hearing.
I was born in 79. My mom and dad had marital issues
that caused them to separate and get divorced
(date unknown). They were divorced in a Nassau
County court which is where they awarded sole
custody to my father. According to my dad, he
represented himself and my mom had a lawyer. From
what I hear they interviewed me for a length of
time behind closed doors but no other information
about what was said was given to me or my parents at
the time. After the separation, my mother was living
in Westbury with a "Jamaican woman" who was heavy{ily}
into voodoo or something to that effect. I am assuming
sometime in 83/84 my mom and dad were starting to
rekindle their relationship when, according to my dad,
my mother told my father she was going to miss him
and me. He of course questioned her but no other
information was ever given to me. I don't know if
that was the last time they spoke/met up, but in 84
she then allegedly left for work like she always did
and disappeared never to be seen again.
My mother {Jane Ann Porembski} may have reverted
to {using} her maiden name. Unfortunately her
maiden surname is quite common, it is 'Rizzo'.
