NEW YORK -- A speeding, out-of-control car driven by a naked woman fatally struck a pedestrian and collided with another vehicle before sailing over a fence and landing in a shopping center parking lot on Staten Island, N.Y., Wednesday.

Police said 24-year-old Taliyah Taylor was pulled out of the car by police following the incident at 10:50 p.m. William Smith Jr. of the Staten Island District Attorney's office said she is being charged with manslaughter and driving while impaired by drugs. WNBC-TV in New York reported that Simon is a former assistant district attorney.

Taylor's Nissan Maxima struck 41-year-old Larry Simon as he was crossing the street to meet his brothers.

The car kept going and collided with a car, causing minor injuries to its occupants. The collision launched the Nissan over a 6-foot fence and into the shopping center's parking lot.

Simon was hurled into the air and his legs were severed from the impact with the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another drugged-up idiot strikes again. When and where does it all end? How very sad for that poor man and his family, not to mention anyone who witnessed the accident. We had a rather spectacular accident here in our downtown area some years back, and the people who witnessed it were in pretty bad shape from it.
