REMEMBER: DO NOT post links to sex sites - any sex sites. Not even Craig's List sex info. NONE.

DO NOT post home addresses of innocent people or phone numbers. Do not name people that are not in MSM and/or named by LE.

No speculation of ethnicity. It borders on being offensive given that stereotype are not always accurate.

THANK THIS POST BEFORE POSTING IN THIS THREAD.

To me this line makes it sound like they are just 2 of many people that police have looked into

Not that the Post would ever sensationalize anything ;)

"Two NYPD cops are being eyed in the Long Island serial slayings after investigators learned they got into trouble for hiring prostitutes while working for the department, according to sources familiar with the probe.
One cop was forced out of the job in the 1990s when his supervisors learned he spent time pursuing hookers and paying street walkers and down-and-out women for sex while he was supposed to be on patrol.
An internal investigation led to his resigning under pressure, one source said.

The other officer still works for the NYPD but was stripped of his gun and badge years ago because he allegedly assaulted a prostitute and got arrested during a sting operation. "

The one still working in the Midtown location is of great interest, being that the calls to family members came from that area. The age of these two guys fits, their experience both with prostitutes and with law enforcement, their history of beatings and abuse, etc.

I think we've got some live ones here!

Thank you NY POST for not being afraid to tell the public what we need to know. If these guys are under surveillance, who knows how many girls' lives have been saved?

ITA MK ... a red herring maybe?

ETA: Wow ... only 2 NYPD cavorting with prostitutes since 1990? Gotta be a record for any PD ;)

I must have missed something. What is the connection to pitbulls?

according to this article Remy from the tattoo is a person http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...=14&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&source=www.google.com

and the Remy from the pitbull website was a pitbull http://www.remyline.com/#!about who may or may not have even been born when JT was killed

Someone on this site (I can't remember who) Had posted a link to this article last week, in reference to police departments covering for their own in general. I'm posting it again because it may bear significance to the LI serial killings if we are to believe what the NY POST is reporting. This may be one of the cops they are looking at.

I haven't read these posts yet - Thanks for the O/T, but I wonder if this cop posts as Peter on another site. Maybe not as he is supposedly about 70 and has worked for the NYPD for over 20 years. Just curious as it is odd for a cop to be posting on crime boards IMO unless he is the guy and relishs putting himself in the mix with the case. :waitasec: Stranger things have happened.

I think we are talking about the same comment section of some article. This poster was giving very detailed info about the corruption in Suffolk County leadership.

ETA: It is the same Peter but not the link I read from. I think one of our posters gave us a different link just to the comments as he is talking about the same things. I don't know what to make of it and what it could have to do with the LI SK ???

This article has been linked a couple of times in the forum & it keeps giving me pause about Brainard-Barnes....

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/dailybeast/...islandserialkillervictimsbondinsupportgroup_1

Cann’s sister, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, had gone missing from her Manhattan hotel room nearly three years earlier, in July 2007. Police had subsequently linked her phone activity to a cell phone tower on Long Island. In 2008, police helicopters and cadaver dogs had scoured the same marshy, desolate area, but found no signs of Brainard-Barnes, a sweet-faced brunette with a passion for poetry.

this is leading me to believe that the killer possibly kept her remains somewhere else for quite some time....

I can't tell if they mean the same area that they searched in 2007 or they mean the same area that she was found.

I don't see why they would send cadaver dogs etc...to OP when her calls were traced to Massapequa unless they had some other information to go on.

I reread and I guess the do mean OP. It seems weird that a year after she disappeared they would send cadaver dogs and helicopters to OP unless they had something to go on.

Good catch Dcgrumpy, Maybe it wasn't her they were looking for? But it is interesting to know that area was searched in 2007 and there were no burlap sacks there then, eh? I wonder if the SK knew LE searched there so thoroughly?

I'm with you MrsPC in thinking he might have kept these bodies somewhere else for awhile and that stretch was on a road he used frequently which he zoned in on as the perfect layout for his conquests.

maybe the burlap sacks were not as visible at that time of year??

were any of the burlap sacks found from an above ground search?
