The body of a male has been found in the Lower Niagara River. Officials have stated their belief that the body had been in the water for some time. No further description has been released. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Investigator Finley at 716-438-3336.

The articles say "a long time" and "a long period of time", respectively. As appearing in the articles, neither are direct quotes from law enforcement. In titling the thread, "some" had seemed somehow preferable (more respectful? more sensitive?) to "long".

I agree that some additional degree of clarity on the timeframe would be helpful in identifying the person. Maybe there are circumstances preventing such disclosure.
