    DESCRIPTION
Sex: Female Age: 16 (approx.) Height: 5' 6" Hair: Black

Clothing/Jewelry: T-shirt w/Perfect Thyroid band logos, bra, boxer shorts, and cargo pants pictured above.

Located: On May 6, 2000, the badly decomposed remains of a racially mixed female were found in the vicinity of 60th Street and the East River in Manhattan, New York, within the confines of the 19th Precinct. The cause of death has not been determined and her weight is unknown due to bloating. The estimated year of birth is 1985. The photograph above is a computer-generated facial reconstruction done by a forensic artist at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Features such as nose, size of lips, eye color and ears are the estimations of the artist to complete the image and should not be used as a significant marker for identification. The pictures of clothing above are articles found on the body, a t-shirt with "skunkjam" on the front and a "Perfect Thyroid" on the back, and dark cargo pants. She was also wearing a navy-blue bra and blue-paisley patterned boxers.

Those "Cargo Pants" I beleive are called UFO's. They were popular rave wear.
Not that half the kids wearing them went to raves. They were in Middle School.
Those pants are about $65.00 a pair and were very popular in 2000,2001.
I see those bungee strings on them in the picture, try washing them with other things in the washer.

One more thing , if a person is considered Hispanic ,How do they know that?
    Could they be Italian?
    Is it by skin tone?
    Is it a genetic test?
Or measurement of the head or eyes?

I would call it in to the phone numbers on both links just to be sure. NYC is a big city with many precincts.

I completely forgot about this possible until today, so I e-mailed and this was the response I got:

Leanne Hausberg was excluded via dental in 2001.

Thanks for keeping eyes on these cases.

    :(

The reply was quick though, 2 hours.... :)

Here's an article about Jane Doe
FACE PUT ON CORPSE Hope computer model can ID teen's body
BY JOHN MARZULLI DAILY NEWS POLICE BUREAU CHIEF

    Tuesday, February 6th 2001, 2:20AM

The East River gave up her body in May, but nine months later a teenager's identity remains a mystery.

"It's hard to believe no one would be concerned about a girl this young," said Lt. Philip Mahony, commander of the NYPD missing persons squad. "It's heartbreaking."

But now, the badly decomposed corpse has a face - generated on a computer screen from the measurements of her skull, combined with a forensic artist's intuition.
Anyone with information about the girl's identity is asked to call police at (800) 577-TIPS.

Do I just really need a break?? I pulled these too links up to print out then write out a comparison.

Pulled the pics....was like, MAN, this pic of UID looks real, how could they have a pic this good of a UID.

    Am I just nuts or...

If you look at this page for UID 2682DFFL
I see a missing girl, not a UID.

Mercedes Chiquito, missing at 15 from Naples, FL.

Then I go to other link, and I have another missing girl, Missing 3/18/99, from NY, NY.

I am confused. I think I need a vacation. What am I missing here???:confused::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing:

    Christine-

2682DFFL is another possible match to the 201UFNY, she is a missing person, not a UID. As far as the girl missing 3/18/99, she has been ruled out by dental comparison.

    Here are the links
    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/201ufny.html UID

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2682dffl.html missing girl

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...rg_leanne.html RULED OUT

HOPE THIS HELPS! You probably do need a vacation!! You are great! :D

Jules, if you know the state/sex and date of discovery, you can easily spot your doe case.
for example the first two digits are the state. then a third for the sex. then a two digit year, month and day follow. So a female found in texas on Aug 12 1997 would be TXF970812. Just check the date and location on any doe and the rule outs, or potential matches that are submitted should be easy to find there. There is also a search feature that works fairly well.
This case would be NYF000506 "May 6, 2000 in New York"

Well that sure does make it easier...Thanks so much!

When I originally sent the email to the ME for this Doe, I asked him to send me any rule outs so I didn't have to keep bugging him. His response was:

"They will eventually be posted as follow ups on the UDRS entry."

That sure will make this easier if they start posting those that have been ruled out on the UDRS website for all the UIDs.

Yes, it sure will. At least for those agencies so inclined. They do run the gamut as far as the attitude about sharing this kind of info.
I'm glad my explanation made sense! lol! There are so many uid cases that we had to figure out a way to keep track. By the way, if we have two or more cases on the same day, same state, we just arbitrarily add a A, B, C etc to the end of the number. Feel free to share.

Then again, I eventually came to believe that "Mall Man" was from Europe, because five long years had passed and no one recognized him in spite of a great deal of publicity. Turned out he was from the very community in which the publicity was greatest. It took five years for an investigator to connect the dots. Go figure

I recently found a link to a website for Leanne Hausberg, missing since 2000 in NYC:

    rtaleworld.com/Leanne_Hausberg/Welcome.html

her case is on the Charley Project and NCMEC:

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hausberg_leanne.html

There was a thread in UID but it's closed now. I think this case on Doe Network resembles Leanne, the time of her disappearance, race, description have many similarities.

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/201ufny.html

Any opinions? I contacted NCMEC, the NYC cop link didn't work.

    Hey smarties,
there are certainly a lot of similarities, but I'm pretty sure Leanne Hausberg was ruled out.
I will have another look at the old thread to locate the information.
