Please continue here and remember the rules. You can find them right here: The Rules - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community AND don't overlook these!!!!

    Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civl and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE. Additionally, sleuthing family members that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

    Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

MINORS: Websleuths.com™ does not allow the naming of, or photographs of, minors (children under the age of 18) on the Site unless the child is a missing or deceased person or where law enforcement has identified the minor as a perpetrator of a crime and the minor will be tried as an adult. If a missing child is found and it is learned that such minor was the victim of child exploitation, references to the child’s name and likeness will be removed, and further posting of such information will not be allowed.

    Thanks,

    Cat

    Brought this forward :seeya:

Seeing that we have very few facts (if any) I was running a few scenarios through my mind trying to simplify.

    1. Rob left on his own.
Did he want his freedom? Was he in trouble? Was he scared?

    2. Rob left and harmed himself.

    3. Witness protection. Why?

    4. Foul play. Was it all staged? What is the motive?

Occam's Razor and all that. Unless someone comes forward or real truth comes out, I'm afraid I'm stuck.

I'm stuck on the fact they have this busy weekend planned, errands to run and they never spoke again that day. No call on the way home asking if you need anything, not a text or anything. I believe the timeline states he was last seen on the job at 12:30 and cell pinged at 1:45 on Long Island. He left early that day. Odd to me they didn't talk the rest of the day. The seemingly perfect couple and no communication aside from a 9am call? That sticks out to me. So does he was the perfect guy with the perfect life, wife, kids etc.. That was overkill.

Somewhat OT but significant in my opinion -
Often one missing person case can give insights useful to another case. In addition, different cases show the differences in how cases are handled by LE and those closest to the case.

There is a similar missing person case in CT - Robert Hoagland, 50.

There is a WS Discussion Forum page for RH. He went missing July 28, 2013.

Here is a FB page link to: HelpUs Find Hoagy
    https://www.facebook.com/HelpUsFindHoagie?fref=ts

    Maybe useful/helpful.

I think it's strange that she says she gave him a list of errands in the morning, then started to worry when he was only an hour late? wouldnt it be expected he wasn't arriving home at his usual time if she gave him errands?

it almost makes me feel sorry for my own boyfriend, it would take me so much longer to suspect he was missing. for the first evening I'd prolly just be sending him f'ed up texts. then I'd go to sleep. if he were still gone in the morning I would call and text with concern, and I would start contacting everyone he knows. if no one knows anything and I've not heard back I'd call LE late afternoon- early evening.

Totally agreed Bunny----About the ONLY fact we have is that he isnt home and hasnt shown up for work.

EVERYTHING else is fair game.....I am even starting to doubt he actually made it in to work that morning.

But unless we get some more crumbs, all we keep doing is going round and round, dissecting words/statements.....but really at the end of the day we have ZERO!

I am tired---and unless we get a statement from LE, I believe nothing.....any crumbs we get are NOT confirmed facts or are possibly modified for whatever reason.

So I now choose to believe LE, and ONLY LE. And they arent speaking. I am pretty sure that they have seen this a million times, it probably fits their typical case of a person leaving of their own free will. They know what they are doing as we all personally know our own job skills in our lives.....I have to believe they know what to look for....and this missing person must seem quite normal for them, as bizarre as it seems to us.

And by the way, I am certain what REALLY happened to RM has been hit upon multiple times from the WS members here, as I believe we have pretty much hit on every possible scenario. :fence:

Now its a waiting game to see what the real outcome ends up being.
I will sit back and keep tabs until we get results :HHJP:

    Beautifully written!
It's exhausting at this point but we won't give up trying to find RM and exactly what happened that day, we may never know. I just hope he is alive.

If we ever know...some cases remain open and some missing people just remain...missing.

Me too lol I feel guilty for feeling exactly like you about my husband.
Errands would take some time no matter what, especially Father's Day weekend.
IMO I believe there wasn't just ONE call. I'm not sure how iMessage works exactly and I have an iPhone but I do know that there is a setting that you can choose to use and it won't go to iMessage. Some of my messages say iMessage and some do not coming from the same number. Depends where I am I think

It is a red flag for me too. She had to have some clue that something wasn't right to worry so soon. She or someone else in the home went looking for his wallet and found it at 4 pm in the drawer. How did they know it was in that particular drawer? Seems like they either got lucky or he told her he used that particular drawer for his wallet. If not, why wasn't there a little hunt through the drawers? She would have found the cash and phone that day. For some reason, it seems she has a clue what could have happened, but is not saying. It could be something as simple as RM having a drug issue or something else . . .
