John Miller:

He's on a bus that originates in Atlanta, but haven't established when he got on that bus. So Atlanta may not have been his starting point. It'll come together.

Gets here around the 24th, which puts him here a lot longer than previously believed. Checked into that hostel. Chats with clerk at the desk (flirty) she asked to see his face. That yielded the most significant clue to identify him.

Checks out of hostel and checks back in a day or two later. Don't know where he was on that odd day away. Goes to Hilton way before night of murder. Knows about the conference obviously.

Mask everywhere. Went to Mcdonalds. It's all about finding that weak moment where he takes down hood and mask. Haven't found that yet.
So he came to the city on a bus and boarded the bus somewhere south of the city -- where did he get the e-bike? Did he bring it on the bus? Or did he purchase it in NYC or borrow it from someone? When did he purchase the gun in CT and how did he get to the gun store (assuming the suspect was one who purchased the gun)? When and where did he obtain the fake NJ ID?

The fact that he stayed in the hostel for a few days after arriving, then checked out, then check back in to the same hostel the next day is interesting. Where did he spend that night he checked out of the hostel? Why did he end up checking back in? IIRC earlier reports said LE checked out at least one other hostel in the UWS and another property in the West 90s -- did he spend that night in a different hostel in the city? Someone else's apartment? Did he leave the city?

ETA: I think where the suspect went and what he did during that 'missing' night will be key

It's only been since yesterday. Already they are finding out about his travels from another state, the hostel he stayed at, where he bought the weapon, and his fake ID.
Exactly! It's an incredible amount of information that they have already and who knows what else they know that we don't yet. It seems it won't be long at all until he is in custody or does himself in.

Related perhaps? Minnesota.

They mentioned on CNN this was related to something dropped off at the wife’s house (previous comments said envelope in mailbox) but it wasn’t a serious/credible threat. Have to wonder who the hell would think that’s a good idea.

Interesting:

"Police believe the gunman arrived in New York City on November 24, 10 days before the shooting, a law enforcement official told CNN. He arrived at the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan and then went to the hostel. After that he appeared to move around the city.

On November 29, he checked out of the hostel for one night and then checked back in on November 30, as CNN previously reported."

He checked out of the hostel for one night.

I wonder why?

And where did he stay then?!

Also, arriving TEN days before the shooting is a crazy amount of time. Even to buy a gun and an e-bike, doesn't take that long.

And how many people can go missing for nearly 2 weeks?! Does the perp not work? Is he a student?

I'm not seeing MSM confirmation that the gun was purchased in CT. Can anyone find a MSM source saying that this detail is certain?

remember not to conflate “professional” and “hitman”…I think we all see this wouldn’t be an experienced professional, however his dumb actions don’t mean he wasn't a hired hitman

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

People are angry because he was in charge of a company that took advantage of a lot of vulnerable people. He did not deserve to die. I understand the anger and frustration that they general public is feeling, but he did not deserve to die.

Murder is never the answer.

No one has any justification to be angry at this victim over some deranged victimization fantasy. Anger that "he" turned down claims? How about some gratitude for all that "he" paid out.

BT was a dad, a son, a brother and a friend. If anyone tried to make him into a symbol of some abstract grievance (not sure I buy that anyway) they are a worthless terrorist.
IMO

It's not confirmed. They were investigating that possibility, but we haven't heard anything firm. The longer it goes on, the less likely I think it's going to pan out. This guy came from somewhere south, and he couldn't buy a gun in CT unless he was a resident (other requirements too).

Changed targets. We learned that he went to the Hilton Hotel very early on, so I don't think he did change targets at this point. It was always BT.
I agree. There was a lot of recon that could be done. The neighborhoods and the patterns of people moving through neighborhoods might have been the reason that he went to that part of the park. Gridlock alerts had been in effect for that part of Manhattan on Wednesday and Friday (day before and after Thanksgiving). Getting a handle on the area might have been the reason for the pre-holiday arrival.

Some sort of ''military reconnaissance''? to check the area, position of CCTV, getaways, potential challenges to complete the mission, etc. Just my own speculation.

If they knew any of that, I imagine it would be in the public domain. It would be super helpful.

He must be American, and I imagine any identifying features were covered (scars, tattoos, etc).
I'm thinking about the clerk at the hostel with whom he "flirted," taking down his mask when she was checking his ID, which yielded the smile picture.

Hard to imagine she or others there didn't hear him speak at all.
