LAFAYETTE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Victor “Devon” Scott, a 24-year-old man from LaFayette, was reported missing on Thursday, Feb. 8, and search parties are trying to find him.

Scott, who goes by the first name “Devon,” is a white male, 5-foot-6, and weighs 200 pounds, said the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. He has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a dark green fleece pullover, black pants, black shoes and glasses. Scott also has a short beard.
He was last seen by family around 12:30 p.m. at Route 11 near Scammell Road on Thursday, according to the OCSO.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, the Sheriff’s Office and NYS Forest Rangers searched for Scott, along with friends and family members, but did not find him''

Unclear but there is no mention of a car so based on the areas they are searching it seems to indicate something along those lines.

I had figured as much. They probably should give that context, and mention the trails. Unless it’s something like he took off on foot after an argument? Or just went on a walk? They don’t make the context clear.

I know the site you are talking about. It's been popping up lately in my searches. FWIW that site was banned a couple of years ago from Twitter and I've found it to be lacking of any links to published stories or citations.

I don't know, it's a weird site that never gives any links to any other publications. I just don't trust that particular site. Would love for DS to be found safe and reunited with his family and am hoping to read it soon!

So I actually just looked at a map. Scammell Road is not very long at all and it's basically homes on large lots. Scammell road begins at Route 11 on the west and ends at North Rd. to the east.
Not enough details from what's been released so far. If he was on foot, did he live nearby? Did he get hit by a car?

Possibly, but he would have to be either angry or in a crisis to deliberately stay away so long and scare his family and fiancé. Of course they haven’t informed us if there was some type of altercation that preceded his disappearance. But the way the fiancé says he needs to know we all love him, etc. makes it seem likely.

I’m familiar with the area as we lived about 20 min west of there for several years. It’s beautiful countryside, hilly and rural, farmland, just on the eastern edge of the Finger Lakes and all the vineyards. Rt 20 is home to countless apple orchards, and of course the CNY area gets a ton of lake effect snow in winter. 81 is a major thorofare running north and south, easy enough it seems that maybe he walked that way and had someone pick him up. Hoping he is safe and will check in with his loved ones soon.

Along with the Sheriff’s Office, friends, family, and many Southern Hills of Onondaga County residents, the searches have resulted in negative results. They also used Air One and drones to search and examine many areas and these searches also came up negative.
OCSO CID detectives believe Scott isn’t a harm to himself or others and believe he doesn’t have known enemies who wish harm upon him. CID believes that Scott hasn’t been harmed or in harm’s way, and no evidence suggests he is under duress.
