Would a skull fracture be possible if she gave birth over a toilet and the baby hit its head on the toilet bowl?

I doubt it, newborns skulls are extremely difficult to fracture because they aren't ossified or fused yet, otherwise babies would suffer skull fractures in the birth canal during delivery. As a nurse I've seen a baby slip out of the ob/gyn's hands at delivery and fall head first on the tile floor with no fracture as well as a 4 month old who fell out of a bouncer from a bar height counter headfirst on a hardwood floor and was just fine.

OH - Annabelle Richardson, newborn, found in shallow grave, Carlisle, 7 May 2017 *mother arrested*

4/18/19 Update: The Ohio Supreme Court today (4/18/19) denied a motion for reconsideration of an appeal filed by the defense team. Status conference hearing on 4/23.
4/23/19 Update: No hearing today. Attorneys & Judge met in chambers & confirmed Sept. 3 trial date. Next Pretrial hearing on 7/1. 7/1/19: No plea deal offered. Trial on track for September 3. One more pre-trial hearing on 8/19. Trial should run about 3 weeks.
7/3/19 Update: Defense requesting a break of charges and three trials and filed the motion of severance today. The defense team is requesting that the court order one trial for the aggravated murder charge, one trial for involuntary manslaughter and endangering children charges and a third trial for tampering with evidence and abuse of corpse.
7/10/19 Update: Richardson’s attorneys issued a motion Wednesday asking a judge to order a separate trial to avoid making it harder for her to get a fair trial.
7/26/19 Update: Judge denies request for 3 separate trials. 8/1/19 Update: Defense files motion to dismiss due to “defects in the institution of prosecution of this case-the state’s deprivation of Miss Richardson’s constitutional rights to a fair trial and due process.”
8/7/19 Update: Defense have filed a motion requesting that the jurors be allowed to view her home. They want jurors to see the bathroom where she gave birth and the path she took from her bathroom to the garage and then finally the burial site outside. Photographs won't convey the locations and directions like a trip to the house, they said. They estimate that this viewing will only add three hours to the trial.
8/13/19: Defendant's Motion in Limine to exclude evidence regarding her diary & to exclude evidence regarding lighter fluid. 8/16/19: Defense files motion for change of venue (again). It was denied in March, 2018.

Yes, I'll be shortening this up a bit.

No court hearing today in the Brooke Skylar Richardson case. Defense and prosecution met in chambers with Judge Donald Oda II for about 45 minutes. Trial appears to be a go for Sept. 3. Skylar was in the building, but was not visible to media.

I was “close” to the Duke Lacrosse Hoax and for those who do not remember, the disgraced and later ...disbarred...DA Nifong made numerous outrageous statements at the start of the case that later proved to be false. For many months, the media and many who followed the case, postulated that “Nifong MUST have something.”

He didn’t.

Crystal Mangum went on to murder a subsequent boyfriend, after setting fire to the apartment of his predecessor. Nifong lost his license and spent a night in jail.

I will reserve judgement on this case until it is shown in court that the DA has evidence to back up his pretrial statements.

The defense claimed that Richardson had a stillborn who didn’t meet the criteria to be deemed a child. Meanwhile, prosecutors said Richardson smashed the newborn’s skull and possibly burned her remains before burying her in the backyard, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite theories offered by the defense and prosecution, the newborn’s cause of death remains a mystery.

“Skylar and her family, particularly her mother, were pretty obsessed with external appearances and how things appeared to the outside world,” County Prosecutor David Fornshell previously told the court.

“You have a situation where, you know, she’s a cute high school, recent high school graduate; she was a cheerleader described (as) a good girl by her attorney as you heard after the arraignment. And I think that kind of perception is one that Skylar wanted to perpetuate and her mother wanted to perpetuate.”

Upon dismissing the motions, the judge said jury selection will begin on September 3.

If you go to the Court TV website, there is a 20 minute video with Vinnie Politan and 3 defense attorneys discussing this case.

One of her doctors begged her not to kill this child according to what Vinnie Politan said.

The 3 defense attorneys they are speaking with say it is going to be an uphill battle for Skylar.

According to the prosecution, there was a significant amout of people who suspected she was pregnant.
