Was there a disagreement or something? I can't imagine someone wanting to go sleep in the Metroparks on a cold December night. There are no camping or lodging facilities in the Metroparks. Did he have a car?

ETA: Sorry, but Google Maps isn't showing the proper route. The actual route is just about a mile from his parents home into the park. It goes down Hilliard to Valley Parkway. Its a very steep hill, not pedestrian friendly.
