OH OH - Holly Metzger Carruthers, 24, Lexington, 17 Dec 2007

There's so much more to this case, Holly was with a woman the night she went missing, which, once I get home, I am going to summarize my information on this individual, and post the audio recording of this woman being interviewed by law enforcement officials after Holly's death, also her criminal record, which I believe is of utmost importance. Then I will go into the other aspects such as her estranged husband, and then more details of what Holly had in her system the night she died. I just wanted to post a brief summary of the events the night she went missing. This is my first time ever doing this, so I apologize for anything I am doing wrong.

You are doing a great job putting it all out there. I can't wait to read more. There are alot of why's but you'll have that when someone dies in odd circumstances. Im wondering if the estranged husband was into drugs but you will answer that as you continue. Good job.

Here is Holly's obituary, I want her remembered as a good person, I'm writing her story as I have time, time is scarce on my weekends due to work, but I have most of my information on the woman she was with compiled together. The next step is figuring out how to upload the interview. But as I digress, here is her obituary (http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com/obituary/holly-renee-carruthers/) , Holly struggled with a life long history of mental illness and later, prescription drug abuse; which I will specify when exactly this occurred; but Holly was smart, she had two degrees, and I want to mention, Holly would be laughing right now about this post. A detail left out about her in her obituary was she was a avid true crime aficionado, she loved CourtTv, she loved Nancy Grace, she was so invested in the Scott Peterson case from the beginning to the end. Holly cried over Natalie Holloway, she was kind and loving, so as I take you all down the rabbit hole of her life, please don't forget she was a beautiful human being and she deserves justice.

Armchair-reader, to answer your question her estranged husband does not have substance abuse problems, he does have gambling problems known to his family, and this is reflected on his credit card statements retrieved by police in 2006-7 as he visited a casino (multiple times possibly). From what I recall, all SS#'s were redacted, so I believe I could scan those documents without exposing any sensitive information as it is all public information which can be requested through Lexington Police Department.

Happy New Year everyone, stay safe.

TheKinginYellow - thank you so much for all you are doing on Holly's behalf. You have a wealth of information on this case and I'm so glad you are sharing it here with us. Am hoping for justice on Holly's behalf.

Mental Illness is an illness. It's so sad that a medical condition can carry such a stigma and those who do not understand attach that cloud of shame to those afflicted. I'm/We are not here to judge this sweet lady you care so much for. We are all here hoping to help you find what is out there and obviously something is not sitting right with your gut instinct. Happy New Year to you too!

I have the coroner's examination, I have the toxicology reports, Holly was under the influence of prescription medication like Seroquel, I need to double check but I believe it was Seroquel. I need to acquire the case files again, my copies were banged up pretty bad from how often I read them before I scanned them to my computer. I have the Walmart video footage, Holly did not look like she was under the influence. There was a woman with Holly, named Chrissy Conrad who denied knowing Holly was missing, and has a violent criminal history, there's too many loose ends in the story. Not to mention her estranged husband at the time Tom Carruthers, who had a history of domestic violence, and one domestic violence case with Holly in 2006.

I do not believe Shawn Grate had any connection with Holly, but I need to bring it up to the detectives just so it is cleared, as Shawn Grate was active in Marion in 2007, but that is 45-50 minutes from the Lexington area.

But Lexington is right in th Mansfield area and I think you have your timeline off on Grate. A body was found in Marion in 2007 and Grate is believed to have killed the woman between 2003 and 2006. From there he went to Mansfield which is on the edge of Lexington. I just can't recall off the top of my head when he went to Mansfield. Check his timeline. He had a store front there trying to attract artists, etc. Grate, geography and his timeline are too close to your friend's geography and timeline NOT to take a closer look at him.

Greetings,

I apologize for the hiatus but I am still here, I have been busy with my personal and professional life, but I am still invested in this case. I recently found a website called "FamilyTreeNow.com", I did a search on "Holly Carruthers", and her address history showed up, all the address history appeared correct, except for the following which is listed as her most current address in 2008:

338 Abbeyfeale Rd,
Mansfield, OH 44907
(Jun 2008)

This is not a known address of Holly for her friends or family, I'm going to investigate this address to see who the current occupants are and if they know who Holly is, her last known address is: 331 Castor Rd #104,
Mansfield, OH 44904.

You all can verify this information for yourselves as well at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/mcffghe

I promise I will still deliver the information on Chrissy Conrad, there's so much material, I need to start putting it out there.

Stay safe.

I find it to be strange that the husband came by before she went missing to confirm that he would be leaving the state for work... I am also wondering if Philip had any history of violence since he seemed to be abusive to his children. This case still being cold is very disturbing, Holly was a mother and her children and family deserve answers and justice.

Please be advised, there may be individuals trying to dispute me on details, I need to keep my identity hidden. Hopefully I can get a hold of a mod to confirm my identity.

Everything I have posted is objective and closest to the truth that I can gather, my identity is probably easy to guess, but for my safety I cannot publicly say.

I haven’t updated this in awhile, life is busy; there’s a lot of things I have been going through. But I do need to update this, especially since we just passed 12 years for Holly’s case, her story was tragic and heartbreaking, there are ugly details, and some people have already come at me in my personal life for speaking up about this stuff.

Have a happy and safe holidays Websleuthers!
Happy 2020!

Metzger was last seen on the evening of Dec. 17 at Wal-Mart and gas stations in the vicinity of Ohio 13 and Interstate 71 in Richland County.

Her green Buick Regal was found at about 4 a.m. Dec. 18 at Ohio 3 and Ohio 97 near Clear Fork of the Mohican River in Ashland County.

Information the police have indicates the car probably arrived there sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., according to Lt. Jeff Hoffer of the Lexington Police Department.

The spot where Metzger's Buick was found is about four miles upstream of where her body was discovered.

Authorities from Lexington in Richland County, Ashland County Sheriff's Office and Holmes County Sheriff's Office are trying to determine which agency will take the lead in the investigation.

"This is unusual in that it involved three different counties," Hoffer said. "We met all day yesterday and today. Till we decide one way or the other, we're going to continue to work with the other departments."

He declined to comment further, except to say there are potential suspects being investigated.''

I am still here, I made a Facebook page at the 16th anniversary of her death, I will be posting police records, and any other files or information I have there. I would like this to be in the public eye. I apologize for falling off of the face of the Earth.
