Organization donates billboards to help locate missing Ohio teen

Around 11:30 p.m Monday night, Chief Brown said his office served a search warrant at a home in Miami Township in Montgomery County.There were four adults living inside the home and Jacob was in the basement. It did not appear that Jacob was "secured or locked in" the basement, adding that it appeared he was free to go where he pleased in the home. However, it appears Jacob did not go outside while he was in the home or socialized with any other children.

Jacob looked to be healthy when he was escorted out of the home, but the Chief isn't not sure how the situation has affected his mind, "traumatized, I don't know, someone else is going to have to make that evaluation."

After being taken out of the home, Jacob was taken to the Greene County Juvenile Detention Center where he's being held on a warrant out of Beavercreek.

The adults in the home were surprised to see police at their door, Brown says they are not sure yet what charges they'll face.

I am so thankful he was found!! I live near where he lived. Local people are going crazy mad that they say there is a warrant for him for being "unruly" hopefully he won't be charged. I think he's been through enough

He's at a juvenile detention center now? I admit I didn't follow the original case but just read about him today and am curious about him. Was he wanted in the original case? I assumed he was an innocent boy who then went missing. What's the warrant for?

I don't get it. Unruly...is that in relation to now? Or from a year ago? Is "unruly" mean living on his own without letting anyone know where he is?

IDK, seems like the kid was found after a year of living in a house only be to be put in a detention center. I think I'm missing something.

He witnessed his father get shot to death. His mother was arrested in connection with the shooting (she may face a murder charge but LE hasn't said she was the one who shot him yet AFAIK). I wonder if perhaps they put JC in juvenile detention to make sure he does not disappear again? They may consider him a key witness and a flight risk too. JMO.

Yeah I don't get it either. Unruly... damn he's a 14yo boy who saw his father shot to death and his mum sent to jail. I'd be damn unruly too, poor kid.

The above article was published last Friday, so it’s probably safe to assume the billboards went up Thursday or Wednesday. By the following Monday evening Jacob had been found. It’s amazing to me.

I’m so thankful for the person who called the tip in. I hope s/he gets the reward (“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading directly to the location of Jacob Lee Caldwell.”).

Just in the interest of accuracy: The WLWT5 article above has a date wrong (“Police believe Jacob witnessed a crime on Aug. 25, 2017.”); the correct date is Aug. 15, according to the FBI website.

Tawnney Caldwell, 33, Chance Deakin, 25, Sterling Roberts, 34, Christopher Roberts, 30, James T. Harmon, 55 and Chandra D. Harmon, 54, were indicted Tuesday on federal charges.

Tawnney Caldwell — Robert Caldwell’s ex-wife and mother of his three children — and Sterling Roberts were both have been charged with murder.

Sterling Roberts is accused of stalking Robert Caldwell via cell phone with the help of Tawnney in the days leading up to his death.

Authorities believe Sterling Roberts used the illegal firearm and “traveled interstate to stalk and murder Robert Caldwell,” the DOJ news release states

[Poloce Chief] Brown said his department received a call on Monday from a female who said she had information about where to find Jacob.

Brown said the tip led to a search warrant being executed at a Miami Twp. home around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

"Four adults were inside, and we found Jacob in the basement. That appeared to be his primary area of sleeping," Brown said.

Jacob was taken directly to the Greene County Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held on an unruly charge from a previous runaway incident in Beavercreek, Brown said.

"Once he got full custody, that's when all of this happened," Tyler Caldwell told FOX 45. Tawnney Caldwell's ex-husband Sterling Roberts is accused of firing the shots that killed Robert Caldwell. I think many of us long suspected Jacob’s mother was involved in or responsible for his disappearance.

I now suspect his mother instructed these “friends” of hers to kidnap Jacob and hide him, perhaps so that he wouldn’t be able to give testimony about his father’s murder, the crime for which she has since been indicted.

What an irresponsible, selfish so-called mother. I wonder what she thought would happen to Jacob long-term. Or maybe she didn’t even care.
