So part of the defense/judge's strategy must be to generate more delays? They took action that was sure to trigger an appeal by the state. Not many other ways to interpret it, unless they were trying to sabotage the case altogether.

I can't believe that FW still has so much influence that a court would attempt to change/ignore past decisions and think it will get away with it. Her family now contains 4 murderers. Where is Junk in all of this?????????

It is, but it is where the info for the Court of Appeals motions etc filed for Billy's case. That is not his original case number but he still has is old case number also, that things get filed under. I should have worded my statement different in my other post as not to confuse you.

In Darke County, Judge Hein’s courtroom was often marked by antics and chest-beating displays aimed at asserting his authority rather than fostering justice. His rulings frequently seemed to prioritize spectacle over community safety, leaving law enforcement and citizens alike frustrated. His approach had tangible consequences, eroding trust in the judicial process and compromising the safety of those he was meant to serve.

It is unfortunate to see him resurface in such a significant case, where the stakes are so high for the families involved and for the integrity of the justice system. While I hope that some measure of fairness and justice can prevail in the courtrooms he now occupies, my past experiences with Judge Hein leave me skeptical.

How and why he was selected over any other Judge in the state is beyond me. IMO he’s not fit to preside over any trial. Sickening!

It would especially shocking if he did that, considering he’s not that familiar with the cases of Angela and Jake. How is he qualified to suddenly sentence them when he’s presided over no hearings where they were present? JMO it’s more than confusing, it’s bizarre and concerning.

They normally are randomly chosen. Here is what Judge Hein said when asked that very question.

Judge Hein quote:

"How I ended up here is beyond me because you get a call from Columbus with an invitation to help a judge out. They don't even explain why. They just say we have a need - will you take the case."
