For some reason the Ewell case from California popped into my mind when I read this.
    Hope they have some leads.

According to Tinker Hruby's own twitter she was a Crime reporter for The Marlow Review in Oklahoma!

I wonder if someone she was investigating/writing about in the newspaper, could have committed the crime?

Please remember that unless a family member is arrested for this crime discussions regarding them being a suspect are not permitted. You can discuss whatever charges he has been charged with to date and what is released through MSM or LE, but that is as far as you can go.

    Thanks, Lambchop

    Daily Mail has it:

Son of family found dead in their Oklahoma home being held in jail - but on an 'unrelated charge' according to police

    • John Hruby, his wife Katherine and their teenage daughter Katherine were found dead in their home on Monday morning
    • The family, who live in Duncan, Oklahoma, had not been seen since Friday and police are treating their deaths as a homicide
    • Their son, Alan, is currently being held in jail, but on an 'unrelated charge' according to police

Does anyone else find it at all odd that no info on WHAT unrelated charges he is in custody on?

IME when LE go to the trouble of telling you they have someone in custody on unrelated charges they specify what those unrelated charges are.

Also in article linked by wfgodot:

Alan Hruby pleaded guilty on Jan. 2 to a charge of credit card theft. The case arose from his use a credit card from his grandmother, Janice Hruby, according to The Duncan Banner.

    http://www.tribdem.com/news/article_eab1def0-53c8-11e4-96d4-ef5f8b687417.html

Court records show that in 2013 Alan Hruby obtained a credit card in his grandmother’s name and charged nearly $5,000 on the card in Europe. His father called police to report the unauthorized charges. John Hruby told police he had given his son an airline voucher to use and Alan Hruby had traveled to Europe in June 2013.

And son told of murders :

At the station, Ford said Alan Hruby was hyperventilating, crying and wailing. Hruby spent time with a chaplain and Ford said it took Hruby quite some time to calm down.

The articles I've read say the charges are related to stolen checks.

Okay. It would appear that the son pleaded guilty to running up charges on his grandmother's credit card during a European vacation paid for -- at least travel-wise -- by his parents last year. Significantly, perhaps, the family decided to let the process of justice and retribution take place in the courts rather than behind closed doors. Perhaps he was "taught a lesson."

Still, running up $5k on grandma's credit card cannot really be said necessarily to be a reliable predictor of, say, triple homicide involving parents and sibling.
