She has some great photos! The "dreaming" is really good, in my opinion.

What a loss for all of us :(

This is so sad and such a senseless murder of someone who appears to be nothing but a beautiful soul.

I really hope they find out who did this.

I'm quite staggered that no one seems interested in this case. Especially when it seems this poor girl is an innocent person (ie not into drugs or the seedy side of life).

I just wish there was more information on the progress of this case. Since I'm not from the states I don't seem to get the same access to the types of newspapers available.

I hope there is justice for this poor girl. It's so sad that someone who appears to posses such a nice heart is taken way before their time in a violent manner.

I hate the fact there are creeps out there who think they have the right to take another's life.

They have to have something. I'm wondering if she was on her shift or just popped in? Somewhere I read a woman was pushed into a room recently at another hotel. I have to find that.

Lovely, talented, hard working, compassionate young girl in her prime.

Thank you Tarabull for these updates.

This is what concerns me though, nothing has been written since those articles and even those articles don't contain very much information.

It's almost like their attitude is "well someones been murdered, lets mention it and move on to more important stories"

I hope his young lady gets justice - she deserves it.

They aren't saying if she was on duty or not. Was Amyjane cleaning the room?

    It has good reviews.

The only other thing was the woman at Pendelton Oxford Suites who was pushed into a room by a stranger a week prior to Amyjane's death.

    Goodbye Amyjane

snipped...Though the teen couldn’t have known she would die so young, she had earlier wondered about how her life would play out. In a poem written a couple years ago, after the death of a close family friend, she questions:

“Will I die young and bold, like I do in my dreams? Or will I die old and wise with a chance to learn and grow?” and wonders, “Will I have an impact on my little world?”

The 2011 Pendleton High School graduate later penned the following in her high school yearbook: “I may not be able to change the world, but at least I can be a splash that starts the change.”

...After graduation, Brandhagen joined Youth With A Mission for six months, traveling to India, Nepal and Kathmandu to work with children and the homeless. Regarding Brandhagen’s poetic question about whether she would impact her world, Thatcher said, “Amy nailed it.”

Filly I did read somewhere Amyjane was working at the time - I'm looking for it...

In the meantime I found this:

    State wants less Brandhagen evidence
    Aug 30, 2012 7:21am

    http://www.1290kuma.com/page.php?page_id=61

snipped... Roberts says that state budget cuts have forced the crime labs to work with fewer scientists, and he understands that they have limited resources. However, he says he will make a case that every piece of evidence submitted in the Brandhagen case be analyzed.

    on the same page....

    Evidence prioritized in Pendleton homicide
    Aug 30, 2012 5:40pm

snipped...Roberts says that the investigators in the Aug. 14 homicide should begin to see results of tests to the most crucial pieces of evidence sometime next week.

Body found in Pendleton motel a victim of homicide
    August 15, 2012

snipped...The owner of the hotel didn't want to talk about the homicide. But a neighbor across the street worries he noticed something odd before everything unfolded.

"Just a gentleman walking up and down the street, pacing the road," Troy Powell, adding that he's never seen that man before and isn't sure he's connected.

[ a couple of points in this older report - worth reading...claims of a similar crime a few years ago :waitasec: ]

eta: 3 posts in a row (again) i will look for the report of Amyjane being "on the clock" at the time of her murder and post later, unless someone finds it before hand. I know it was reported.

AND ANOTHER THING: Surely CITY HALL has camera's to check for the 'pacer'!!!!!

does anyone know if she was a maid? don't they usually leave the room door open when cleaning? she could've been cleaning the bathroom when attacked ...

it seems someone was watching her - whether it be a guest, an employee, or perhaps a stalker

what a wonderful human being AmyJane was - I hope whoever snuffed her life out is caught soon

tarabull thank you so much for all these updates, you are such a godsend, I'm just glad that this is being taken as seriously as one would hope a murder is taken. I am a little concerned that the crime lab doesn't want to test all the evidence, one would worry that the piece of evidence they don't test would be the crucial piece.

I may live on the other side of the world, but for some reason this murder has affected me more than others. I am always on websleuths reading the cases, but hardly ever post. I think it just has something to do with the fact that Amyjane appears to have been such a wonderful soul. I'm not into religion, but Amyjane was using her faith for good and helping others.

What happened to the other woman a week earlier might be relevant, I hope she got a good look at the perp and was able to provide a good description to police

I hope this case stays current in websleuths, I know I'll contune to look for updated posts.

thanks again tarabull, I appreciate your efforts for AmyJane. Thank you too Filly for starting the thread and staying interested. Sometimes When I read about someone who was taken before their time like Amyjane and I read about the type of person they were- I kinda wished I had known them.

Murder of a Pendleton teen still a mystery

In the weeks since Amyjane Brandhagen's lifeless body was found at the Travelodge Motel there are more questions than answers.

Police have said very little. No suspects named. No cause of death made public.

    [snip]

Officials tell KEPR evidence in Amyjane's case is a top priority but it will take some time before results will be handed back to Pendleton police.
