"Jared is autistic. His mother said he has a heightened sensitivity to sounds and that he was able to hear the 5 a.m. fire alarm while the rest of the family slept.

“The smoke alarm went off, the youngest boy awoke and that’s when he saw the smoke,” said Springfield Fire Marshal Mark Dahl. “He woke everybody up and got everybody out safely.”

Jared, his mother and three others left everything behind as they escaped their burning home. Now Kathryn Finster says they’re left with only the clothes on their back." <snipped>

What a wonderful gift to give this family! Praise and thanksgiving on high!

I can imagine how very many times this little guy's sensitivity to sounds has been a source of stress and frustration to these parents. How wonderful that God found a way to show them what a gift it is as well.

LOVE this! My daughter Fiona is autistic so I have a warm squishy spot for these kind of stories :)
