Two people discovered human remains while walking near a stretch of rocky shore in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area south of Yachats on Wednesday morning, according to Oregon State Police Sgt. Justin McGladrey.

The pair was on a trail west of Highway 101 near Cape Cove when they spotted a body on the rocks near the ocean.

A comment from the 1st link suggests that this could be Michael Ray Myers. He and his wife were swept off of a jetty in Yaquina Bay on Wednesday, 10 November. His wife was found drowned. His body had not been recovered.

Couple swept off jetty was celebrating anniversary

How sad! What a beautiful area. It feels like you can live forever when you're there. :(

    Rest in peace, Michael!

I agree, Kimster - it's one of my favorite spots along the coast. The story of these two is absolutely heartbreaking. Just unbelievably tragic.
